Boo. Halloween arives by Witches broom this Friday. And I've caught a beautiful swamp mistess to join us. Amy Swift. Certainly no monster, unless you read her work. The Downtown Milton Studio tonight?. Boo. Let's have a discussion on past and present Halloween preparations or avoidance. Boo. Let's let the Not-So- Wicked Witch from the East haunt us as best she can, Miss Melissa Meep. Sam Way, he's simply just 'scary' but he's our 'driver' - now thats scary! We'll touch on being Hollow with a brain injury, and about being Weened by therapists. Now THAT can be scary. Eureeka! I found my tumbling head! Amy is a remarkable lady from Mississippi (no making light of her sweet, southern draw folks) who finds time to Horror Write scripts. More sweet (or horror), Amy is a mother of 7 yet looks like not a one. She may not endulge, but much more sweets in her house.
But there is also eerie readings along those walls. Amy Swift joins us, a prospering Horror Writier who has been witness to many (most) Horror films out side her own readable tales of mystery. Meeps, watch the studio incase I disappear. Sam, hope you feel better because Herman Munster, Goblins, Ghost and LesPaul are anticipated - quite a scary lineup - Boo. It's Halloween, let's play, have some fun, some horror (besides me) and BRING YOUR OWN CANDY (BYOC) to our Milton Party. Danged Kids are grabbing handful after handful of the cookies I baked. Talk about scary! Boo...
Joining Melissa and myself, is of course Sam Way, and latter on Deborah Berry. God, don't let me burn this night up! It get's better. Jeff Gabbard stops by LIVE! from the Downtown Milton Studio. Jeff is the Fire Chief of the Cambridge City Fire Department by 24/7, and Indiana Deputy Fire Marshall by 7 days a week. Oh, EMS, Nurse, Master Firefighter, even a drag car racer. Let's talk about Fire Safety and prevention. Jeff and both his 'staffs' did just that this past week, going into the schools and addressing citizens about 'blazing hell' - which turns into trauma for someone. We learned not to play with matches, and graduated to smoke alarms and personal fire extengushers. But, MR and MRS TBI (or Miss), do you know when to use, HOW to use, or properly checked the fighting apperatice?
Need help? Take notes. This is a fantastic opportunity to discus fire, EMT and first-respoce questions. Have any? Ever been on the other side, where you was the FIRST needing response, but was, uh, knocked out or something?
More first responce of the lawful side is expected. Milton Police Chief Josh Russell may stop by, time permitting (busy schedule that EVER changes, he has) and discuss house and home safety, neighborhood watch programs and just what to do if that weird looking goblin' hangs around your house too long during Halloween. Josh is also an emergency responder, thank you God - he's done it at my house a FEW times. My version of C.O.P.S. - Concerned, Offering Police Service. Talk to an officer, share and trade TBI concerns of living alone, confussion and efforts by both us, and them. Register.
Yep, Sting said I could, so I'm playing The Police during breaks tonight....
MEEP MEEP!! ACME Cleaners, Inc...
Co-host Melissa Meeps joins me, and hopefully a lot of Peep's too, as we talk about cleaning out the house, literally and mentally. Usually reserved for March or April and 'Sprinig Cleaning' season, uh, I'm a little slow, so Fall it is. . So, before the LONG winter ahead for all of us clipped-winged Snow BIrds, I best clean 'my house' to my approval, so I an live more comfortable in quiet. And possibly, then come next year, I can LITERALLY make a LEAP in 2015 without solace. Admittedly, I struggle with folks that have NO SOCIAL skills in place. . Struggle hard. Sure, it frustrates me greatly that most Survivors re-learned 'friendships' from their past involvements, learned to share solid words on their own, without guidance (don't get me started there). The Big EYE, as in 'I' often overtakes recovery and puts us at our own level. Eventually, its time to come back home. Lot's of 'I's' in this world, a lot. I just spent the week lilstennig to many of our radio network's offerings. The "I's"' have it maxed out. Thanks listeners, for making TMDS about US....BTW: glitches in the 'routine' this week set me back, but Meeps! and Sam will lead the Way! If not, well, just another glitch WE have to overcome - with a smile!
Next week, Jeff Gabbard of the Indiana State Fire Marshall will be in studiio (for real), offering tips on FIRE PREVENTION AND SAFETY WEEK. 2013 Canadian 'Courage' Awardee and 2014 'Beyond Truama Super Hero' Michael Coss will call in from the great (soon to be) white north! We've each won the same, rarely issued awards in the past few years. Anticipate insperation from a pair of voices never before heard together (except by us).
I sit in a Unique Place in History! I’m a Multiple Traumatic Brain Injury, Brain Aneurysm, and Coma Survivor Who at the Same Time Worked Myself up from the Very Bottom into Becoming a Peer Supporter Advocate Activist for People with Disabilities and a Brain Injury Radio Network Host.
At Walton options for independent living where I work, we are people with disabilities fighting for your rights. Every day, and there are over 400 centers and many of them are going to be at a National Disability Rights event called APRIL next week which is the United Voice of Rural Independent Living in Rural America doing the same thing all across the USA. They are busting a move to make a better place to live for all of us!
The big problem! Too many fighting and arguing over which disability gets this and what agency gets that forgetting the people with any type of disability. No matter what and breaking hearts and breaking dreams. So why not forget if it’s a brain injury are whatever and bust a move working together with me to change this now! It’s almost like it’s become a survivors club and at each club fights for the funds and keeps them from the others, and so people with disabilities are actually fighting each other. That’s wrong!
Working at a Center for Independent Living It Is Much like I’m at an Outpost for What Is Going on in the Disability Movement and for That I Feel Very Honored because I see things that most people don’t know that are going on in the community and in the country and in the world to help people with disabilities.

This month on the "Inspiration for a Lifetime" Facebook page, the topic is forgiveness so I thought this was a perfect way to end the last week of it.
This month has been a blessing for me to really search my heart and forgive in ways that I haven't. I realized that I have struggled with forgiving myself for years which not only lead me to continue in sin in the past, but also to easily find fault in others or not have ability to forgive. I am not saying that things were not spitefully done to me for no reason, but I also did some sinful things to others as well (which also stemmed from past unforgiveness). I think we build up pride and we forget we ourselves need to be forgiven and that God has forgives us daily.
Luke 23:34 "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."
Ephesians 4:32 "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Matthew 6:15 "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

My guest is Debra Pyka, a mother who is trying to bring awareness to not only prevent suicide, but to warn of the dangers of sports and head trauma to our youth. She will be discussing her son Joseph's life story, playing sports, CTE which led to years of depression and ultimately, his suicide. Joseph's brother Seth will join us, since they played sports all through their childhood together. She has tried to contact politicians, White House and Michelle Obama, with no one concerned or responding to her. She also wants to shed light on the responsibility of the NFL with the research started 20 years ago, to warn all parents of the dangers of concussions/head trauma and future effects, which the NFL denied for many years. More young people are dying from sports related injuries than ever. www.sportslegacy.org/research/legacy-donors/joseph-chernach

In this episode of EGUA - Marketplace we examine our PTAH SASETEM curriculum.
PTAH Sasetem is a curriculum created for adults who are of Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit (African~Black) heritage to utilize in the education of themselves, their peers and in the instruction of Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit children and young adults. PTAH Sasetem is a seven-tiered structure rooted in the Ancestral order of Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit culture. This structure is detailed in the PTAH Sasetem Nhoma (book) and our related Adesua (training workshops).
The consciousness and behavior of Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit children, young adults and adults is awakened and transformed through the principles and values conveyed through the seven tiers within PTAH Sasetem.
The principles and values of PTAH Sasetem have been used to positively re-orient Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit children, young adults and adults in prevention and intervention settings, classrooms, after-school programs, day-care and home-school programs, adult and youth "rites of passage" programs and various Mentu Ra (mentor) relationships. As Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit adults, only we can ground ourselves and our Afurakani/Afuraitkaitnit youth and peers in our shared Ancestral legacy. It is imperative that we engage a process rooted in our Ancestral culture for our total development, sustenance, sovereignty and security.
