Radical Islam Here - An Interview W/ Ilya Feoktistov - The Boston Bombing

    in Religion

Join us for a very important interview with Ilya Feoktistov, is the Director of Research at Americans for Peace and Tolerance.

The Obama Administration is conducting a national conference on combating terror, and has chosen Boston as one of three model cities where authorities have a good working relationship with the Muslim community. In fact, Boston may be the most important US city where radical Muslim leaders are building an extremist base of followers.

The Obama Administration is now planning to hold a conference based on its program to “Counter Violent Extremism” in February. It has identified Boston as one of three cities where Administration policies are preventing radicalization of the Muslim community. Boston is said to be a model for others cites to emulate, because, it “has taken the lead in building pilot frameworks integrating … religious leaders, with law enforcement agencies to address violent extremism.”

Far from being a positive anti-radicalizing model, Boston is actually a model for how Islamic radicalism is created, developed and spread. As the Boston Marathon bombings showed, the Obama Administration’s willingness to be deceived by false moderates can have drastic consequences.

The Ed Boston Podcast - Killing Jesus Coming To NatGeo

    in Christianity

Tonight I reviewed the upcoming movie from The National Geoprahpic Channel called Killing Jesus. After that I talked about and gave my opinion on the Indiana Religious Freedom Act. The law was read word for word and Indiana Governor Mike Pence's statement was read as well. Also included was a heart felt post from my daughter Brook encouraging people to do their research and not just believe everything you are told.

Film, Oil & Water David Poritz & Fair Trade Oil

    in Lifestyle

Mitchell’s guest this evening is a young man whose story was one of two told in the film Oil & Water, David Poritz, about the devastation of large swaths of the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, right in the middle of Indian tribal lands inhabited by the indigenous people for generations.  The film was featured on Progressive Film Hour on March 3, on which Mitchell interviewed one of the filmmakers, Francine Strickwerda and the other young man whose story was told in the film, Hugo Lucitante.

Both controversial and with impassioned, environmentalist emotions set aside, today’s guest, David Poritz, is creating a novel and really desperately needed protection of indigenously-populated lands through the ranking/rating system of safety and what need to be eco-sensitive practices by the oil industry, just as we have fair-trade certification for coffee, diamonds and other commodities often originating in the highly-exploited “Global South”.

Oil and Water will be the featured film for the matinee showing at the Paradigm Shifts Music and Film Festival on Sunday, March 29 at 3pm. For more information and tickets, go to: http://abetterworld.tv/a-music-and-film-festival-march-19-29/

For my interview with the filmmaker and the other young star of the film, go to: http://abetterworld.tv/oil-water-the-film-round-table-2/
