Irate, Tireless Minority - A Time to Give Thanks

    in Politics Conservative

Doing my best to help the Lord set the brushfires of freedom in the hearts of men and to restore America, God willing, to the beacon of freedom she was meant to be.

What would a PC Thanksgiving be without an attempt to demonize the Pilgims?
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

More from the religion of pieces

    Doing What's Right:

Doing what's right in an age of PC revisionist history and terrorist attacks means telling the truth. The truth is that islam is a murderous, barbaric, death cult that wages war on every level upon which it is possible to wage war. The truth is that Christian values are the best platform upon which to build a stable society. The truth is that, unless individuals take responsibility for themselves and their own actions, just as in politics, that vacuum will be filled by someone or something else. Big government is not the answer. Self government, when it is directed by an abiding belief in God - by which I mean the Christian God - leads to a successful, secure and stable society, inasmuch as any society made up of human beings may be said to encompass those qualities.

    in Sports

The Summer of 1984 was an eventful 3 months for new Commissioner David Stern and the NBA; on the heels of an epic 7-game Finals slugfest between Larry Bird’s World Champion Boston Celtics and Magic Johnson’s Los Angeles Lakers, the first of 3 heavyweight bouts in the Decade, the NBA Draft was held in New York City; the Draft would introduce fans to 4 future Hall of Famers who would each write their own chapter in the NBA’s History Books. There was Forward Charles Barkley of Auburn, the rowdy, raucous “Round Mound of Rebound”, his polar opposite, little-known Guard John Stockton of Gonzaga, the majestic Nigerian Center and Number One pick  Akeem “The Dream” Olajuwon from the University of Houston, and the electric (Cue Chicago Bulls Public Address Announcer …”6 foot 6 Guard from North KAR-O-LINA!”)…Michael Jeffrey Jordan. These next-level players would secure the NBA’s rapidly growing stature as the Sport of the Future, with Bird and Magic now at the peak of their powers.  Jordan, Georgetown Center Patrick Ewing and 10 of College Basketball’s best would represent USA Basketball in the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, led by iconic and infamous Coach Bobby Knight of Indiana University. Knight, known lovingly as a “Raving Maniac” by his players brought his no-nonsense, drill-sergeant mentality to the USA program and molded yet another Gold Medal Winner. The agony and ecstacy of the Draft process, with its Franchise-changing consequences were never more evident than the summer of ’84.

This year, there was a shortage of Thanksgiving turkeys because of the bird flu. In light of this shortage, there are many options for enjoying family meals without using meat or animal parts. When you make your own food from scratch, it is not only more economical but it helps you to connect with your food, where it comes from and who is growing it. The more that people choose to shop consciously, the better it is for the environment. Only when people understand the devastation caused by factory farms operating in a monoculture environment will they understand just how devastating the impact. That is why more and more people are making the transition to veganism. Plant based diets are not only more humane, they are healthier! In Dreena Burton's Let Them Eat Vegan: 200 Deliciously Satisfying Plant-Strong Recipes for the Whole Family you will find a myriad of easy to make, delectable recipes ranging from soups and burgers to wraps and ice cream!
