What are the best approaches to eradicating poverty when traditional means fail?
Paul Polak, Out of Poverty
Paul Polak is widely regarded as the father of market-centered approaches to development. Over the past 30 years, he has had long conversations with more than 3,000 small farmers who live on less than $1 a day and walked with them through their fields. He is the founder of IDE, which has now enabled 20 million of the world’s poorest people to move out of poverty by selling them radically affordable irrigation tools made available through thousands of small village manufacturers, dealers, and well drillers, and opening smallholder access to markets where they could sell their crops at a profit.
Paul’s book, Out of Poverty: What Works When Traditional Approaches Fail, has been widely used as a basic text on practical solutions to rural poverty. He is the founder and CEO of Windhorse International and cofounder and board chairman of Spring Health India, for-profit companies with the mission of bringing safe drinking water to 100 million poor rural customers in the world. Paul is the prime mover for creating and implementing the four social impact multinationals in this book, each designed to transform the lives of 100 million $2-per-day customers and generate annual sales of $10 billion.
A former psychiatrist, farmer and investor, Paul’s vision inspired the Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt traveling exhibit, Design for the Other 90 Percent. He was named by The Atlantic as one of the world’s 27 “Brave Thinkers,” along with Steve Jobs and Barack Obama. He has also received the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and the Scientific American Top 50 award for agricultural policy.

It is a common misconception amongst the Christians that Paul and Jesus' Disciples were unanimous in their preaching of a crucified Jesus. Christians believe that Paul and the Disciples were preaching the same doctrine and everyone believed in the divine Jesus who came to be crucified for the sins of the world. However, if one carefully examines the bible, that person would see that Paul and the disciples were not preaching the same doctrine and did not believe in the same Jesus

The aggressive pace of the growing seasons can be stressful, especially in the North at this time and the South during the January to March period when your course is most actively used and judged. On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable reviews Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation! Could this be Ethan Hunt’s most impossible mission yet? Is the franchise only getting better with each successive entry? Has Christopher McQuarrie succeeded where John Woo supposedly failed? Did he manage to top both Brad Bird and J.J. Abrams? Could Rogue Nation be the best pure action film of the summer? Are spy films undergoing a renaissance this year? Who should be handed the directorial reigns for the IMF’s next cinematic outing? Is Tom Cruise getting too old to play the lead in this series?
The roundtable will also be reviewing Ant-Man! Is the troubled history of the production evident in the final product? Would Marvel Studios be better off right now if they would have let Edgar Wright have his way? Just where does Scott Lang rank among his MCU counterparts? Is he a first stringer, or a bench-warmer? Is the film a pleasant surprise, or is it the first real chink in Marvel’s seemingly impregnable armor? Now that phase II of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially come to a close, how does it stack up to phase I?
