  • Staying Young Takes An Understanding That Body, Mind & Spirit Are Interconnected

    in Self Help

Staying young takes an understanding that body, mind, and spirit are interconnected. What good is a “young” 90-year-old body if your mind and spirit haven't grown old? Or, how would you feel if your mind was sharp, but physically and spiritually you weren’t at your peak? You get the idea. Without the balance of all three, staying young wouldn’t be worthwhile.

So how do we do this? How do we stay young in body, mind, and spirit? What steps do we take?

It’s time to follow your heart, honor your uniqueness, and discover your true meaning. Gather your answers and decide how to incorporate this newfound knowledge into your life. Assessing your uniqueness takes careful thought. We all have a passion—something that makes us light up inside, something we want to do more than anything else. We bring our own uniqueness to our passion. Following it will help us find true meaning in life.

Shirts v. Skins: NFL Draft winners and losers/NBA Playoffs/Raiders to Vegas?

    in Sports

How did your team do in the draft? We'll cover the winners and losers from the weekend. Also, do owners and GM's get too caught up in off-field transgressions (see Moss and Sapp), and pass up on players who they shouldn't? And theNFL upholds the Tom Brady suspension. Do you agree? Does Roger Goodell have to much power (Drew Brees thinks so)? Oakland Raiders are making a real push to move to Las Vegas. Does the NFL belong in Vegas, and is it trouble for the players who will play there (think Manziel)? Chris Paul and Steph Curry are both injured in the same week (and Blake Griffen). Obviously, the Clippers are screwed, but what about the Warriors? Can they keep winning without Steph? Tune in Sunday morning at 9am PST to hear our take

Welcome to Sacred Sunday! Today~ I Timothy Chapter 2

    in Paranormal

Separate But Unequal~The Way  it Was

Paul's ready to start dishing out some guidelines for good Christian behavior.
First, prayer is good. Pray for everyone, even non-Christians. Especially kings and other guys in positions of authority. That will go a long way to smoothing over Christian relations with the Roman Empire.
Besides, Paul says, God wants everyone in the world to be saved. Jesus died to help the entire world get closer to God, and he won't be happy until he's got 100% participation down here on Earth.
That's why God bothered to appoint Paul as an apostle to the Gentiles in the first place: to lead everyone, no matter who they are, to Jesus.
So who should do this praying?
Well, men. They can pray anytime and anywhere. They can lift up their hands and make a joyful noise because God totally digs it.
Ladies, on the other hand, don't get as much freedom.
Womenfolk should always dress modesty. No getting dolled up with hair braids and gold and pearls and fancy clothes. It seems Paul thinks the Devil wears Prada, too.
Also, don't teach anyone to try to have an authority over a man. Just concentrate on being meek and submissive and everything will be fine.
Why all the rules for ladies? Well, it all goes back to Genesis. God made Adam first. Adam also wasn't the one who got fooled by that snake—it was Eve. Um, has Paul read Genesis lately?
But even though a woman did a bad deed way back when, ladies today can save themselves by having lots of babies and raising them up right. Oh, and by staying meek and modest and not worrying their pretty little heads about voting and stuff like that.

Let's Talk with Elder Angelis @ Women in the Ministry with Cheryl Peterson

    in The Bible

Paul says in 1 Cor.14:34 that women are to remain silent 34 Women[a] should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

As a result many church folk, including some minsters, have misinterpreted this as women should not be visible when it comes to any form of the ministry.  While this stance has caused great controversy, the pews, mission fields, and lay programs paint a different story.  Women outnumber men in attendance in churches world-wide, and women in the ministry as pastors and other church leaders have reached an all-time high despite adversity and road blocks. What compels women to push forward despite opposing views on this controversial issue?

    The Journey of Article V

    in US Government

This week's episode will highlight some great news for the Convention of States out of Oklahoma and Maine (yes, THAT Maine!).

We'll cover the journey of Article V through the Constitutional Convention.  Where did it come from?  What was the intent of the Framers, and how did they express that intent?  Why do the State Legislatures have the enumerated power to apply for a "convention for proposing amendments"?  Was that mode added as a last moment afterthought, or did the Framers give us reason to believe that this mode was their intent from the beginning of the convention?

We'll then open up the phone lines for any questions/discussion regarding the Convention of States Project.

That Provident Article" is hosted by Convention of States Texas volunteer Paul Hodson, with the Convention of States since late 2013, a District Captain in Texas from February 2014 through November 2015, and now serving as Co-Director for the Convention of States Texas.
