    A Different Kind Of Love - A New Year, A New You

    ShaVonda L Williams is a living testament that when you have a renewal of your mind, you can achieve anything you can conceive.  She was on the verge of giving up, but God had more plans for her life.  She visited a doctor to complain about her immobility; she wasn't able to get around without hurting.  At only thirty-six years old, she was in need of some help.

    "You are not in need of medical help," he said.  "You are fat and need a new diet and exercise plan."  ShaVonda was furious, hurt and embarrassed, but a light bulb went off.  She owed it to herself not to be insulted by someone that really didn't know her or what she had endured.  Instead of feeling sorry for herself, she got PISSED!  No longer was she going to be the butt end of anyone else's fat insults.  Once her mind was made up, she found the strength to do something about her weight issue.  Almost 100 pounds later, the storm is over!

    Wardrobe Wednesdays is Back With a New Title, Vision and Content

    Wardrobe Wednesdays will be airing again starting this Wednesday, January 28, 2015 @ 10:00am CST. Please join me this Wednesday when I tell you my story and how it relates to the new vision and mission for Wardrobe Wednesdays.  The show will still be providing you with great tips on the latest fashion tips and trends. I'll also be speaking on the topic of your health. Your health is your wealth and I've always known that but recently in October of 2012 I found out first hand what that really means after being diagnosed with metastatic stage 4-breast cancer. 


     


    I changed my mission in life as well as my diet. I look and feel great and want to share it with women (cancer patients and survivors) who are interested in taking care of themselves and improving their quality of life. While recuperating from surgery and treatment I found that there are 5 key areas in your life that can have a profound effect on feeling better and helping to keep your cancer cells shut off. 


     


    Each episode will have tips in one or more of the key areas so that you can swap out, add or delete habits that aren't getting you the results you want. So this Wednesday you can start just by taking action on the tip for that day.  You can choose to take baby steps or drastic changes depending on your personality. No one knows your body and personality and what works better than you do. I'll supply the weekly dose of healthful, food & fashion tips to look and feel better everyday.

    Celebrate the New Year by cutting out sugar in your diet--take a bath with Epsom Salt--work-out in the A.M. but it's essential to do something that feels good everyday.  Feel absolutely great by adding foam rolling to your daily exercise routine--change what you eat, it could change your life.


    STRESS, STRESS, STRESS...we're so distracted by STRESSES that we never take time to LISTEN to what OUR BODY, MIND and SOUL are telling us.


    Meditate, still not ready to dive in.  If daily meditation seems too intimidating try these tips.  Side bar, when I'm on the eliptical or stair master, I clear my mind and think of nothing.  When you wake up don't check e-mail, turn on radio or tv, just sit quietly, have a cup of coffee or tea with YOURSELF and ALLOW YOUR MIND TO WANDER (10 minutes) to calm and center yourself.
