GSICR welcomes Pastor John P Kee

    in Goals

Pastor John P. Kee was born the 15th of 16 children to John Henry and Lizzie Shannon Kee, and he affectionately describes his childhood home as “outside the county line” in Durham, NC. Mrs. Ethel G. Shannon, John’s maternal grandmother, also played a pivotal role in his upbringing and remains a consistent source of spiritual guidance today. Music in the home and attending church highlighted the family's weekly activities. John exhibited extraordinary talent at an early age; vocally, harmonically, and instrumentally.
"There are so many people bruised”, he says, “that our churches should be running over with the lost and forgotten! There is so much hurting and suffering in the world that the only way not to be overwhelmed by it is to know that you are doing something about it." Where there has been a natural disaster, where unemployment has overwhelmed a city, or anywhere people are hurting you'll find Pastor Kee doing what he believes he was called to do - Encouraging, Inspiring and Seed Planting!

The Career Expert Live - With Special Guest John Faye

    in Self Help

With 2 decades in the music business under his belt, Philly rock veteran John Faye has truly taken matters into his own hands: his new solo album Meddling Kid (which he is releasing a song at a time until the full record drops later in 2015) is an artistic tour-de-force on which he plays every instrument and sings every note (with the one notable exception of inviting all of his colleagues from his former band IKE to sing gang vocals on his remake of that band's signature hit "Into Philadelphia"). The lead single, "D.N.A.," is a scathing rebuke of skin-deep relationships and snap judgements in the age of Tinder and short attention spans.

John Faye has amassed an impressive musical resume dating back to his major label days fronting 90's alt-rockers The Caulfields (whose single "Devil's Diary" cracked the modern rock top-40, and whose album tracks landed on soundtracks for Disney's "The Babysitter's Club" and "Melrose Place"), to his first solo foray The John Faye Power Trip, which morphed into the aforementioned IKE (who put out 6 full-length records from 2003-2011), and his punk / garage-rock influenced duo John & Brittany, who gained notoriety on the Sirius/XM channel "Little Steven's Underground Garage" and on MTV-u with their video for their song "Paper Planes."

Now, in 2015, Faye is forging a brand new DIY path with his new record and live band, fittingly called John Faye & Those Meddling Kids! With sold out headlining shows in their home town and a coveted slot at Radio 104.5's Summer Block Party with Nate Ruess of Fun, The War On Drugs, MS MR, and Civil Twilight, John Faye is poised to bring out the Meddling Kid in everyone within earshot.

The place of the Prophets in today's world

    in Religion

Pastor Brad Morgan of New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison, TX, continues speaking from Jeremiah and specifically shares about Prophets in today's world.

God knows the plans He has for you.  Some people think Satan has a more powerful plan, but God's plans are superior in all ways. God has more than one plan for you. Sometimes his plans for you can look ridiculous to the world. The word of the Lord will come to a prophet both by what he hears and what he sees.

God told Jeremiah when he was 17 and called by God to not identify with his youthful limitations, but identify with the word of God. God will call you to do things that you know you cannot pull off yourself. Pastor Brad continues speaking about the trials of prophets by telling the story of Isaiah in 1 Kings 18.

God calls prophets to begin to change the order of things. God will accomplish this through the opposition and adversity. God is with you.

    2.             Courage- Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart (mind), wait I say on the Lord.

    3.             Hope- Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    4.             Belief- Acts 4:32 Now the multiples of those who believed were of one heart and of one soul.

    5.             Faith- Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

NFL Week 12: Panthers no respect; Pack back; Can Pats find players? USC Coaching

    in Football

We will look at the Turkey Day games.

The best team in football gets no respect.

Could Pats actually run out of players?

Injuries are getting worse it seems.  And some are non-contact injuries.  Is it hurting the fans too or helping the standings?

In Denver, is Brock the new Peyton?

And we will look at religion in football.  Is the NFL the No Faith League?

And ESPN pissed at Johnny Football.

And some coaches may be getting off on a Trojan horse or a Bayou Bengal.

And what is up with the referees?

As always our expert is Eric Snyder.  He is the author of a book on the Raiders and Raider Nation.  You can hear him on the Power Hour on 1340 Fox Sports Radio in Las Vegas.

Let’s play Fraud or Real or Pretender Contender?  Packers Texans Cowboys

Pokes get the 10-0 Panthers but the Cowboys at 3-7 are favorites over the undefeated Panthers.  As I said in the beginning, has anyone watched this team?  I got the Panthers in a romp.

Bears go to Lambeau to play resurgent Packers.  Plus they’re retiring Brett Favre’s number.  I have to go with Pack.

A number of new injuries are affecting games this week.  Peyton is still out.  Flacco is gone for the season – and maybe longer.  Are these injuries hurting the fans or helping?
