Model Train Shows: Are They Good or Bad For The Hobby?

    in Hobbies

This time on the APRHF's Let's Talk Trains Show we will take a look at Model Train Shows.

We will ask you, the listeners, what makes a great train show? What makes a bad one? Does having a swap meet at the show, make the show feet cheap? Why are there not more manufacturers's coming to the shows Should model train shows be produced by for-profit companies instead of the local clubs or historical associations? Should there be more regional cooperation between organizations? Should we just have swap meets and then do a show with just model trains? Should we let attendees operate displays?

    Prayers for Children

    in Religion

Teaching our children how to pray is a part o a vital foundation that will prove to be something they will be thankful or.

Prayer must be taught to our children with a purpose.  Join us as we study the prayers of Paul, Jesus and others  in the  bible  and learn to use their words as a model for your own prayers.  We will personalize them for ourselves and for others and pray them for amazing results. We will also look at the prayers of King David in the book of Psalms. Andrew Murray says " True prayer, that takes hold of God's strength, that availeth much, to which the gates of heaven are really opened wide-who would not cry, 'Oh, for someone to teach me thus to pray'?" He concludes, "Jesus has opened a school, in which He trains His redeemed ones, who specially desire it, to have power in prayer."  Prepare to take your prayer life to the next level as we pray the word of God. Your prayer life will be transformed.  Tell a friend and join us for the discussion on prayer.

What ever the movie needs to help bring a sense of adventure or urgency in an effort to entertain their audience. Urban Therapy with Sun #121 Married At Home And In Love With Someone On The Web

    in Lifestyle

Well I guess this happens often enough huh? As crazy as it sounds, there are many people who are married but who also carry on serious relationships on the internet. How does it happen? How often does it happen? Why does it happen? Is it indicative of problems in the home or is it more of a crime of opportunity?

There are so many people who have distrust of the internet activity of their partner but with smartphones, tablets, social networking and mobile wi-fi, it can drive a suspicious person crazy!

What would make make a married person who is committed jeopardize their marriage to engage in an online relationship? Could it be that they think that they won't be caught because it's the internet and that is safe? Could it be that the person they are pursuing lives in another state? Could it be that the grass is greener on the other side in their eyes?

How do dating websites play into this? Are they adding to the problem of marital infidelity? How about Facebook groups and things like that? Are there groups that actually promote this sort of thing?

How serious can an internet romance get with a person who is already married. Riding in planes, trains and automobiles to visit? Providing financial support? Infidelity leading to extra families? I guess when you think about it there really is no limit except for a person's imagination.
Check out this show as we really get into this.

The Keystone XL Veto and the Need for Comprehensive Energy Policy

    in Politics Progressive

President Obama vetoed Keystone XL - but there are still plenty of dangers from other, smaller pipelines and oil trains that pass through our communities. What we lack is a comprehensive energy policy that would take us off oil, says MOMocrat Karoli -- although we've started to make some progress over the last six years of the Obama Administration.

Also: Net neutrality, Scott Walker's Wisconsin "Freedom to Work" law, and another GOP lawmaker making laws that restrict women's rights to reproductive healthcare -- who doesn't seem to have a clue about female anatomy.

    Climate Action with Russell Greene

    in Politics Progressive

Last week an oil train carrying explosive Bakken crude derailed and caught fire in Fayette County, West Virginia. Forty-eight hours earlier, on Saturday, an oil train carrying toxic Alberta tar sands derailed and spilled in Ontario, Canada.

Todd Paglia, Forest Ethics executive director, released the following statement:“Oil trains are simply too dangerous for the rails. Whether it is explosive Bakken crude or toxic Alberta tar sands this extreme oil cannot be transported safely by train. Twenty-five million Americans live in the blast zone and nearly everyone else lives downstream of an oil train route.

Matt Krogh is the Director, Extreme Oil Campaign for Forest Ethics
With over 12 years experience in nonprofit work and advocacy, Matt joined ForestEthics in August 2013 to direct a new campaign targeting tar sands on the West Coast of North America, Tar Sands SOS. Most recently as the North Sound Baykeeper at RE Sources for Sustainable Communities in Bellingham, Washington, Matt has spent the last three years fighting against Gateway Pacific and other proposed coal terminals on the West Coast. As a freelancer, he and his father co-authored a book on integrity and principle-based decision making—both critical components of effective advocacy.
