Acclaimed recently by President of Friends of the Oglala Lakota, Brocket 99 is the name of an underground comedy audio tape that parodies aboriginal people in Canada and the name of two documentary films about the tape (one produced in 2005, and the other in production).
The world's most controversial Radio Parody. We donate a % of every audio product to 1st Nations & Native American Causes.
The parody played on numerous aboriginal stereotypes and has been characterized as racist. The tape included names of real people, stores and towns and is an "international underground phenomenon"
The tape was created in 1986 by radio DJs in Lethbridge, Alberta, purportedly inspired by a clip of a parody of gay men running a radio station called "AIDS Radio".The "Brocket 99" tape was never made to be marketed and was meant as a parody.
Brocket 99 Part 2 was recorded in 1986 but was released in 1989
The premise of the tape was a fictitious radio station broadcasting from Brocket, Alberta, on the Northern Peigan reserve (a real reservation 70 km west of Lethbridge), hosted by a character named "Ernie Scar". It stereotypes natives as drunken bums, welfare recipients and drug addicts and uses pejorative terms to describe native men as "bucks" and native women as "squaws". Songs played on the tape included complete versions of multiple hits by artists such as AC/DC and Dwight Yoakam, often in a row. Between the songs and the DJ segments are fake ads for real products such as Dr. Scholl's foot powder and Lysol spray.
He can be found on YouTube with his frequently funny, occasionally touching and moving, but always clever song parody videos. Ron Tankersley doesn't shy away from many of the things that a lot of us think but frequently don't say aloud.
Having the gift of a provacateur, Ron always makes you think. We'll get a glimpse of the man behind the parodies in this episode. There are some awesome things on Ron's horizon. This man is going places, try to stay out of his crosshairs.

Welcome fans to a parody film from director Axel Braun and he is taking on the recent Sly Stallone flick The Expendables which just had its sequel come out this past summer. Axel has made one major change for his version and that is making all those male characters females much like what was done in the Reservoir Dogs parody that came out a couple years back. A pretty good cast here too with Kimberly Kane and Brooklyn Lee getting the major roles playing the Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham characters respectively.
A great episode for all of our good fans out there who like smart phones, flash games, solid state technology, heck even tube amps! come on down if you like computer hacking, coconut water cocktails, benzo withdrawal, trolling deviant art, flunking out of coursera courses and NBA Free agency!

In August, cartoonist Aaron McGruder, creator of the infamous Boondocks comic strip and cartoon series will premier a new show titled "Black Jesus" on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim time slot. The comedy parody show features a live action series of Jesus as a black man in Compton, CA. This show has brought about good and negative publicity for AS and McGruder, but how should black pastors engage the show and the viewers? Is the show any more offensive than Jesus Christ Superstar, Tyler Perry's Madea series, or even George Burns' O God movie series?

Join Doctor Mayer Eisenstein, Vaccine Rights Attorney Alan Phillips, and Dr. Paul King, Ph.D. in the 2nd half of the show, as they discuss another excuse given for the Hep B vaccine at birth; a parody article on the Age of Autism website about a vaccine for dandruff; the actual prevalence of Guillain Barre Syndrome resulting from flu vaccines compared to the official claimed risk; how health authorities change labels to control public perception on vaccines and other medical issues; a county in California that is experiencing some of the state's worst pertussis outbreak despite having one of the state's highest vaccination rates at about 95%; how it is assumed that the "answer" to infectious disease is always a vaccine; how members of Congress refused to read Robert Kennedy, Jr.'s book about the science on thimerosal, calling it "junk science"; how the increasing use of influenza vaccines has led to, among other things, "early onset Alzheimer's Disease"; how the definition of vaccine success has changed over time to accommodate vaccine failure; documented instances in which recipients of the MMR vaccines developed 2 or even all 3 of the diseases from the vaccine; how deaths from the small pox vaccine were in one instance 100 times greater than what vaccine recipients were told; whether or not cases of a disease in vaccine recipients are actually milder because of the vaccine, as many are told by health authorities; whether or not vitamin K shots at birth are really necessary, and when it's best to circumcise a child with that in mind; and more!
Weird Al Yankovic joins us live as we celebrate the release of his 14th studio LP, Mandatory Fun, out today, July 15th!
The album includes a hilarious take on Pharrell's "Happy" as well as featuring parodies of Lorde's "Royals," Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive," Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," plus Al's own "style parodies" of the Pixies and Cat Stevens.
In addition to the album, Weird Al is releasing videos for several of the songs this week. Tune in to find out more!
About Weird Al:
Few would have guessed that "Weird Al" Yankovic, who as a shy, accordion-playing teenager got his start sending in homemade tapes to the Dr. Demento Radio Show, would go on to become the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history with over 12 million album sales. Now entering his fourth career decade, he has won 3 Grammys (with 14 nominations) and countless awards.
In addition to his recordings and world-famous music videos, Yankovic is also well-known for his cult-hit feature film UHF (1989), his late ‘90s CBS Saturday morning series The Weird Al Show and the numerous AL-TV specials that he’s made for MTV and VH1 over the years. With release of his children’s book When I Grow Up (HarperCollins, 2011), Al added "New York Times Bestselling Author" to his resume. An app version of the book for the iPhone and iPad, which recently won a Webby Award, is also available. His follow-up to this title was My New Teacher and Me! , released June, 2013.
Weird Al, along with his band of three decades, has performed over 1,000 career concerts and continues to tour with his rock and comedy multimedia show throughout the world.
We're taking a week off to try some things out for future shows. Please, enjoy this replay of a show back from a year ago. Regular broadcasting will resume next Monday. Thank you .

New dramas that pop in, in our lives all the time! Total parody of a name by the way, just poking fun at silly ways of viewing free speech & podcasting, in a free society, of course the western world which we all happen to live in.
We talk about friendships gone sour, a continuation of the previous show, & we really talk about people even in our lives that just don't seem to care, and are just there wasting our time and the time of others around them & what to do about them.
