Will the Grand Canyon be the next place to be sold off, piece by piece? This is the topic of today's show, and Betty is livid that the National Park is being threatened by developers, the Navajo Nation is being split by the offer of billions. Natural resources are being leased to foreign countries. Assignment: tells the stories of America from history, military, politics, social and economic to entertainment - the things you never thought about to the trivia you never knew.
Lt. Colonel (retired) Jim Chambers joined the Army in 1969, and served as a Ranger in Vietnam. He started racing sailboats nearly 20 years ago; he and his boat SnowFox have won more trophies than he can count. Jim and I will talk about what led him to deliberately choose a career path filled with adversity, and how the lessons learned in his military career are relevant to facing other challenges on and off the water. I always love hearing his stories, and I think you will, too.
My name is Beau Chatham and I am a Master Coach with The Burris Institute.I am also the CEO & Tribal Leader of Warrior Life Coach, an Atlanta, GA-based executive coaching practice, where I work with business professionals, athletes, and combat veterans.A little bit about my background – I was a commissioned Infantry officer in the United States Army. I am Airborne Ranger qualified, saw ground combat in Grenada during Operation Urgent Fury, and served in numerous other command and training positions.I left military service after 10 years and found myself in the world of biotech and pharmaceutical commercialization, where I marketed injection and oral drug therapies. I also served as a corporate trainer, where I conducted and coordinated medical education programs for sales representative, focusing in the areas of anatomy, physiology, and disease state management. My areas of teaching were in cardiovascular and neurological disorders. It was here, that I was first introduced to the concept of Evidence-Based therapies and how important they are in gaining measurable outcomes. This is what ultimately led me to finding The Burris Institute methods of coaching. remember following the country’s combat actions of post 9-11, not from the newspaper or the talking heads on the TV, but rather through medical journals. Of particular note, I recall the longitudinal studies of Dr Charles Hoge published October of 2004, in the New England Journal of Medicine that addressed the growing mental health burden being produced from extended combat operations. As a warrior and medical educator, I knew that I wanted to help our returning combat veterans, so I started looking in to life skills coaching. The problem was that so many of the life coaching schools insisted that coaching was for “healthy” people and that the emotional states of fear, guilt, and anger were best suited for psychiatry.
Good morning, good morning, GOOD morning!!! Monday morning, again, and how was that weekend??? Wasn't so bad, you made it out. Anywho, today's topic is, WHEN LIFE THROWS YOU A CURVE BALL. And we all know that life does have a tendency to do that. But when it happens, what do you do, do you stand there, and try to swing at it, or do you just stand there, and let it go on by? Most people will try to swing at it, while others, feel there's no need to swing, and pass up the opportunity to knock it out the park. Learning to hit curve balls, is a great skill to have, and in life, seeing that we don't know when one is going to be thrown, it's best to practice swinging, when you have the opportunity. Well, as always, you also have the opportunity to support the show by way of using http://www.paypal.com and using the email address, email@example.com.

Walt Realer Story
I graduated from Academy Park HS in Sharon Hill. I attended Virginia Stat Univ and Delaware County Community College. I held a number of jobs working for the post office, ups, iron mountain before getting a job with General Electric back in 1992. I worked there for almost 11 years before the plant was closed. During that time in 1996 my mother started the cleaning service. I worked for the company part time just to help out and make a few extra bucks. When my plant closed in August of 2002 I went home and talked to my wife about layoffs and working for someone else. I told her I was thinking of working the business full time. She said she had my back. I spoke to my mother and took on the day to day responsibilities of working the business. I've had a number of clients over years. Iron Mountain being the first. Then came First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill. Neighbor to Neighbor also in Sharon Hill. Both of which are still clients today. St Paul's Baptist Church, Edward Jones in Springfield. I ran successful campaigns with living social and groupon. Done a lot of residential and commercial work as well. Our services range from carpet cleaning, general cleaning, janitorial service, wood floor restoration, stripping and waxing of tile floors and power washing. We've also done some auto detailing and snow removal from time to time. I was a member of the rotary club of eastwick pa. I coached little league football for the Christopher Arnold Athletic Association
