As a child, I was always told that I was an "old soul." In many instances, I found it hard to relate to my peers because of my intuitive abilities. At five or six, it was "normal" for children my age to talk about seeing fairies, to have "imaginary" friends and to be afraid of the dark because of monsters or ghosts (that I knew were communicating with me.) I enjoyed more creative pursuits like playing the piano, singing, painting and day-dreaming to satisfy the need to use my intuition. (My inner child still allows me to enjoy these things today too!) In my teens, I began to integrate the more eccentric parts of myself and allowed my abilities to shine through in a solely "entertainment" type of way. It worked for the time-being.
I continuously found myself seeking more from the Universe than dogmatic religion and traditional academia were providing me. Basically, I wanted to know about the ultimate human potential in a multitude of different ways. I wanted to answer questions about consciousness, the purpose of life (for myself and others), what it is like after death and what is ACTUALLY out there in the Universe and on this Earth. (And that is in no specific order. haha) My mediumship and galactic channeling came on board in divine timing. When I opened myself up to the Universe and surrendered my current paradigm, I was able to free my mind and allow sacred information to flow through me. The support of my family, my Transpersonal Psychology education and study of Earth and galactic-based magic techniques, cosmic symbology, Reiki healing and musicianship led me to creating a unique healing, channeling and teaching practice.

KML Design Solutions was created by Kelley Lopez at a point in her life when it was time to do some serious soul searching about how she wanted to contribute to the world. She’d spent her 20’s & 30’s raising a son and working to help build someone else’s business. While she felt lucky to be a key player in building a successful business and found the work very rewarding, it wasn’t her calling. After having renovated several investment homes and doing some interior design work for friends as a favor, it was clear that interior design is a something that Kelley has a passion for and comes naturally. Cut to 2010 and her son is now grown and doing well and Kelley has found herself in need of starting something new. She got her education from Interior Design Institute in Newport Beach and is a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association. She has enjoyed helping her clients’ realize their dreams of having a beautifully designed space. Her mission is to improve the lives of people by helping create beautiful, functional and comfortable spaces in the most cost effective manner while making the design process fun.
Kelley is also a professional singer. Something she’s been doing since childhood when her Mother taught her and her sisters how to harmonize. Her singing career has happened organically. She was offered a job to sing background with a large group for New Year’s Eve in 2004 and she’s been working ever since. She has a single on iTunes called “Where Does The Love Go” under the name Kelley Marie.
Kelley’s dream is to start a non-profit that donates furniture and housewares, and teaches life skills to people transitioning from halfway houses and battered women’s shelters.
Week 15: Answering Questions About Challenging Behaviors
This week on Parenting From the Inside Out listeners will be challenged to consider new ideas and new ways to handle challenging behaviors. Michelle Alden knows our tendency is to reject new ideas and new ways of doing things. We have been taught to see children and their behaviors a certain way. And the concepts shared on this show with you today will probably be very different from the way you were taught or parented. Change is not easy, but the challenge presented to us by our kids from hurt places demands us to think and act differently.
Teaching and Training and Real Discipline- Part 2 of Parents and Power Struggles
Parenting children is a difficult challenge at times. Their behaviors can be puzzling, draining and distressing for adults. This week on Parenting From the Inside Out we will be talking about common power struggles parents have their children and listeners will have an opportunity to hear how to continue to connect and stay relational with their child in the worst of times.
Week 11: Parenting With Connection
This week on Parenting From the Inside Out we will revisit an earlier broadcast about the value of connecting for us as parents and especially for our children.
Michelle Alden will talk about how trauma has affects a child’s ability to connect and build positive, healthy relationships. We will explore how current research on brain leads us to understand the value consistent, loving relationships have in helping children heal from trauma.
Listeners will be given several helpful tips in building a foundation of trust and safety with their challenging children.
Rewards, Punishments and a Better Way
This week on Parenting From the Inside Out, Michelle Alden will be discussing a common way of teaching and parenting that involves praise, rewards and punishments.
Using Alfie Kohn’s research and other information we have about the power of connection, listeners will gain a greater understanding of why rewards and punishments have failed our children and why they don’t work with our most troubled kids.
Deena grew up doing yoga since she was kicking in the womb, but it wasn't really until she found this sweatiness that the true love affair began. After many major physical injuries that limited her mobility and life traumas that held her down, Modo brought her back. She is greatly inspired to help people get out of physical and emotional pain and live life to the fullest.
Deena Robertson is the co founder of Moksha Yoga Danforth in Toronto, Moksha Yoga London in Ontario, and Modo Yoga LA. She was a member of the Moksha/Modo Teacher Training Faculty for nearly 8 years until she decided that wanted to focus full time in LA.
Her background in competitive basketball, volleyball and European handball was the seed for a strong passion to find ways to challenge the body while being mindful and attentive to long term health. Her classes will inspire you to challenge yourself to new heights and truly start to listen to yourself.
She is grateful for all her life lessons, and her teachers, greatest of all being her mother JJ who taught her that life is what you make it with such gems as "Shit happens, but suffering is optional!"

Week 9: A Look at What the Experts Are Saying

They will be talking about some of the nuggets of great and supportive information about the brain and trauma and how to really help children to heal and bond.
Jo is an adoptive parent of three children, a professional in her own right and Michelle Alden is licensed counselor, a parent to five bio kids, but also an adoptee, author and post adoption specialist as well.

Week 6: An Inside Look at Challenging Behaviors
This week on Parenting From the Inside Out we are talking about challenging behaviors and providing parents and teachers with tools to help children heal. Our goal is to apply the knowledge about the brain, the impact of trauma, and how children use behavior to communicate as we look at some of the most troubling and frustrating behaviors. Many parents and teachers would prefer to get a method or skill set that will help them to manage their challenging children, parenting from the inside out requires a different approach.
