Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1079

    in Self Help

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "For Our Kids" - Deborah Maddison and Tracy Baxter, Canadian activists from British Columbia, will join Bill Murray to lead this evening's discussion about the Rights of Children and Families in North America. Tonight's TOPIC: "Breaking The Bonds of Parental Alienation and Systemic Abuse" Nothing stirs up passions more than the controversy generated when parents are at war over the custody of a child. With the pathological 'win-lose' mentality of our family courts and CPS increasingly abducting and witholding children from loving parents to support the many industries that feed off commodifying our children, the system is aiding and abetting abuse, and reaping the financial rewards at the expense of our children and families. Join us as we speak with parents and advocates Keith Marsolek, Carolyn MacCloud and Marcie Harding who will be sharing their heartbreaking and frankly outrageous stories of alienation enabled by this system. Learn the steps they are taking to fight this devastating injustice both for themselves and others who are facing this brutal and overwhelming situation. We are also pleased to welcome back panelist, advocate and author Robin Karr, who's own incredible story remains one of the most corrupt and cruel examples of judicial terrorism we have ever encountered. ~~ Every two weeks a new THEME will be presented in this series, with frequent special guests speaking from their own experience. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/ForOurKids or write to: naasca.forourkids@gmail.com

Free Range Parenting in Montgomery County

    in News

Long before the Meitivs of Silver Spring clashed with Montgomery County over their young children’s walk home from a park, parents across the county were at odds with authorities over similar questions: How much supervision do our children need and when are they truly at risk?

The free range parenting movement has caused parents across the country to unite in similar fashion and protest what they consider the heavy hand of government creeping itself into how parents choose to responsibly parent their children. How much is too much government interference in parenting? How can authorities work with parents who adopt free range parenting? What conversations about free range parenting need to occur between families and the authorities?

On a new episode of A Miner Detail brought to you by the Change Montgomery County radio network, host Ryan Miner will dissect the free range parenting movement and facilitate a discussion about how parents choose to responsibly parent their children.

Listen LIVE on Wednesday, April 22 at 9:00 p.m. on BlogTalkRadio.com/AMinerDetail to a new episode of A Miner Detail!

    At Eye Level - It's 4/20!

    in Entertainment

Hosted by Matt G and "Doc" Savage

This week, we're celebrating a very special day. It's the one day that people from all walks of life come together, and put aside whatever differences, worldly or otherwise, they may have and share a common bond. The one thing that unties us all. The tie that binds. That magical plant known as cannabis. On this day, we give thanks to the other woman in most of our lives, Mary Jane.

While known for many years as strictly recreational, cannabis has been proven to have many positive health benefits. From pain management to treating seizure disorders, the medicinal uses for this once feared plant are limitless. We have stories upon stories, some personal about the positive effects of medical marijuana. We invite any listeners who have experiences, positive or negative, to call in and share them with us.

With the legalization of recreational marijuana in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, the possibility of national legalization becomes more real. Admittedly, this isn't something we expected to see in our lifetimes, but here it is. Welcome to the future! What are your thoughts on legalization? We'd like to hear from people on both sides of this issue.

We'd also like to invite our listeners in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, along with any patients in one of the 21 states that legalized medical marijuana, to call in at 4:20 (Mountain Time) for one big bong hit! Unfortunately, we won't be able to join you because Doc doesn't partake and Matt can't afford to right now, but we'll be with you in spirit! For those of you who can't figure out time zones, that's 20 minutes into the show.

    PARENTAL DISCRETION ADVISED

We do not encourage the illegal use of cannabis. Please use responsibly; don't drive high.

Creative Family Welcomes Tamyra Brown Owner of All God's Children Nolensville

    in Spirituality

Tamyra D. Brown was born in partially raised in Northern Virginia and she moved, with her parents to Dickson, TN where she finished my formal schooling.

Education has always been a part of my life. Her mother Sallie Bradby is a retired school teacher of over 30 years. Her back ground varies from Special education, elementary education, and college educator. Her father Dennis, now retired, was employed with the correctional system for over 30 years in multiple capacities such as, warden, principal, faith based ministries, and other inmate programs.

After graduating high school, she attended MTSU and majored in education with a minor in dance. Upon graduating, Tamyra went on to pursue a Masters degree in education with a concentration in Administration and Supervision. She has taught at all age levels and environments.

While I worked for a private consulting agency, she traveled to many schools ( private, public, preschools, etc..) While visiting the preschools, it hit Tamyra how there was an urgent need for a clean, safe, loving, faith based childcare center. She took a leap and trusted in faith and decided to open a preschool. After many trials, tribulations, tears, and learning experiences, she got it right! Tamrya has had so much help from her family, her current director, Saundra Duffield, who has been with her since the beginning, and none of it would have been possible without our Father God.  Just over 1 year of opening All God's Children Early Learning Academy and we have a waiting list until next January for infants and all of our other classrooms are full with a waiting list.

Tamrya excited to see the children's faces everyday and we have a wonderful faculty and staff that make my "job" worth while.
