When we look at the work of the Vanguard Party that were our warriors and stood for the Black Pride that Malcolm El Haji Shabazz stood for. Self sufficient community owners of our own business and in control of our destiny. The contradiction of that is what we are experiencing today the WHITE ESTABLISHMENT CORPORATIONS CALLED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Huey is showing that the analogy of Ban Peebles of Malcolm being Sweetback and the Vanguard Party being the Revolution or Moo-Moo. How Malcolm gave us the two things that we must be diametrically opposed to the oppressor, and we are responsible for our Freedom By Any Means Necessary! "Wherever, each synthesis leads to new contradictions. Right until the end Melvin Van Peebles is signifying and conveying a message to us. What is the new contradiction? Sweepback has killed two dogs, but one is still there, refreshing himself in the water mingled with blood of the other dogs If Sweetback got two dogs who is going to get the other? That is the dog we must down. So the movie ends with the words “WATCH OUT.” This has a dual meaning. It is telling all the many Sweetbacks across the land to watch out for that third dog and be prepared to deal when he shows up. It also says to the oppressor to watch out for the Sweetbacks across the land because they are coming to collect some dues, Righteously signifying, when Bobby and I stated the Black Panther Party, we wanted to build in the Black community the love, the sacredness and the unity we need so desperately. this is still our goal and we try to help the community survive by administering our many survival programs. Sweet Sweetback helps to put forth the ideas of what we must do to build that community. We need to see it often and learn from it.” Huey P. Newton
The essence of the ideology of the Black Panther Party is that we recognize that matter is constantly in transformation a dialectical manner. But when we understand this and understand the forces in operation, we understand this and direct them in a manner which is beneficial for the community. Therefore what we want to do is understand the contradiction within ever respect of the Black Community and move on them by trying to increase the positive side of each contradiction until it comes to dominate the negative side. This is how we define power: the ability to define phenomena and make it act in a desired manner." Dr. Huey P. Newton, "HE WONT BLEED ME A REVOLUTIONARY ANALYSIS OF SWEET SWEETBACK'S BASADASSSSS SONG ...", June 19 1971, form "TO DIE FOR THE PEOPLE." This movie by Melvin Van Peebles is a great study to 'Know Your enemy as you know yourself" is an art of war. If we compare and contrast the actual book THE ART OF WAR BY, by SUN TZU , where he says this about the study of how to make war and be successful in that Art. "He who relies solely on warlike measures shall be exterminated; he who relies solely on peaceful measures shall perish. Instances of this are Fu Ch`ai on the one hand and Yen Wang on the other. In military matters, the Sage's rule is normally to keep the peace, and to move his forces only when occasion requires. He will not use armed force unless driven to it by necessity. Many books have I read on the subject of war and fighting; but the work composed by Sun Wu is the profoundest of them all. [Sun Tzu was a native of the Ch`i state, his personal name was Wu. He wrote the ART OF WAR in 13 chapters for Ho Lu, King of Wu. Its principles were tested on women, and he was subsequently made a general. He led an army westwards, crushed the Ch`u state and "Excerpt From: Tzu, Sun.
The Black Panther Party was one of the most militant, influenetial, respected, and targeted Black Nationalist groups during the 60s and 70s. As part of its ten point program, the BPP essentially advocated for an end to capitalism, and replacing it with the objectives of socialism. We will discuss why and how this program is still relevant to today.
Tonight the show will surround the exact reasons why the move Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song was directed towards the very moment we are experiencing today. "If you understand where the Panther is coming from, you will understand. That Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Is a beautiful exemplification of Black Powet, for what he does is decide how he wants things to come out and then he makes them act in desired manner."
MALCOLM EL HAJI MALIK SHABAZZ gave us the sense of pride of our BLACKNESS he told us Black was Beautiful and Powerful and we must continue to believe that and be exemplifies of BLACK POWER.
