"Umm...WHAT EXACTLY DO THEY DO THERE?" - The Phenomenon That is Fandom

    in Entertainment

Cosplay has become an international interest. Main media groups have picked up on the skill of costuming but we know where the roots of Cosplay has come from. It has come from the generations-old gathering of Conventioneering. From WorldCon to Farpoint, DragonCon to Shore Leave, conventions have always been the backbone to fandom. A place in various hotels around the world where people gather to show off their creative talents thru knowledge and skill of Sci-Fi and Animation.

Join NDB Media and MBL ENTERTAINMENT, LLC.'s Marc B. Lee as we talk to fans, actors, artists, vendor and organizers from NEW ZEALAND, UK, GERMANY, AUSTRALIA, USA and more about the phenomena the media needs to call it. To the rest of us, it has been a part of our lives for generations, only to have the mundanes trip over it as it passed by.

Join actors from Pan's Labryinth, Fantastic Four, Hell Boy, Falling Skies (Doug Jones), The Lord of The Rings, Spartacus, Narnia (Shane Rangi), THE HOBBIT (Jed Brophy), STAR TREK, STAR WARS and many others. We'll also have Oscar winner Doug Drexler, Emmy winner Ronald B. Moore and author Larry Nemecek.

WE are the folks that have given permission to the major media outlets to supply us with superheroes, fantasy and horror heroes on the screens. It was US who made them rich and its time to tell them EXACTLY WHAT WE DO THERE.

    Finding Inspiration in Fiction

    in Spirituality

We have discussed finding the reality in fiction, now it is time to address the more narrow (or is that broad?) topic of finding inspiration in fiction. The Pagan community has often found inspiration in what many consider fiction. Marion Zimmer Bradley, Diana L. Paxon, Gerald Gardner, and Dion Fortune (to name a few) have all published works over the last century that have were fiction but addressed the Pagan movement. Join RevKess and KaliSara as they talk about some of the books that have inspired them in their paths and in their own writing. This show airs just under one week into the 2010 NaNoWriMo competition. Both of your hosts are participating in this competition this year and are drawing on some of the inspiration from these and many other authors. They invite the listener to call in during the live show and share some of their favorite inspirational novels and other sources of fiction. They also invite the listener to join them in the BTR chat or the PAN chat to discuss these sources of inspiration. PAN's chat is at http://paganalliancenetwork.spruz.com/chat. Sci-Fi and Fantasy books are just some of the sources you may hear about on this episode.
