Pamela Lenehan: My Mother, My Mentor

    in Self Help

Can Children Thrive When Raised by Working Moms? Because mothers used to stay at home to raise the kids, we’ve compared our lives “backwards” when thinking about what happens with children when their mothers work. By looking at what adult children of working moms actuallyreport, we can look the other direction and conclude that there are many benefits to having a working mom. We can also look at how moms can best approach bringing work and family together. And we can throw “working mother guilt” in the trash!

70 percent of mothers in the U.S. with children under age 18 are working. Even so, 60 percent of adults surveyed think children do better when one parent stays home. Curious about this, Pamela Lenehan created a groundbreaking survey of more than a thousand people ages 23-44 about their childhood. She interviewed working mothers and their grown children. Now she’s appearing on Full Power Living to assure us that working mothers who integrate profession and family are benefiting their children. Together, let us count the ways…

Click here to visit Pamela Lenehan’s website, “My Mother, My Mentor”!

Thursday’s, 9-10am pacific and 12-1pm eastern, call in to be a part of the show: 888-498-0570

THE UNSPOKEN DIVIDE AMONG AFRICAN-AMERICAN MEN Make no mistake about it; there is a significant divide that exists between African-American men. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..... The consequences of repearted relationship failure upon Black Women

I have a significant issue with African-American women who publicly issue the following loaded statement, “there are no good Black men left.” So I am certain that you can imagine that my blood pressure gradually rose to stroke level as I watched a recent episode of the Steve Harvey show dedicated to interracial dating.

Police handcuffed multiple students, ages 6 to 11, at a public elementary school in Murfreesboro TN on Friday, inspiring public outcry and adding fuel to already heightened tensions between law enforcement and communities of color nationwide.
