    Grenadine Islands under the sea

    in Travel

The Grenadines are a haven for scuba divers, some of the world’s most spectacular aquatic scenery and much more.  Our first stop takes us to Bequia (pronounced Beck-way), the largest of the Grenadines.  Fresh from a dive at Devils Table with her dive buddy Cathy Sachs of Dive Bequia, Tonya and Cathy will recount their dive and why Bequia offers an unusual diving experience.  Cathy will also share how this island has changed her life. Then we’ll visit Bequia’s Park Bay, home to the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary, where a native retired skin-diving fisherman affectionately known as “Brother King”, has spent  more than a decade of his life to helping to conserve the endangered hawksbill turtle.  Brother King and his helpers monitor the beaches and nests here to protect mother turtles from poachers.  They also care for the baby hatchlings in the sanctuary during the turtles’ vulnerable years of life. Many of the hatchlings are released into a protective area just south of Bequia called Tobago Cays—our next stop.  Lesroy Noel is the Park Ranger for the Tobago Cays Marine Park which lies in the southern Grenadines.  The area comprises of five isles bordered by a giant horseshoe reef and teems with wildlife and wild sea turtles.  Finally, we’ll travel just a short distance by boat to the private Palm Island where we’ll catch up with the island’s resident artist and (retired) medical professional Dr. Patrick Chevallier.  Patrick is one of the world’s premiere undersea artists and his character is as charming and colorful as his artwork.

MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB/Dr Pat Holliday/Dr Sabrina Sessions/Marshall Perot

    in Religion

THE MARRIAGE SUPPER OF THE LAMB

All of the saints from both sides of Calvary, from Israel’s 12 tribes, and from all their companions drawn from out of the nations will be there. John saw the saints standing before the crystal sea clothed in white robes. Here were people from every nation, race, and tribe. (Rev.7) They had palm branches in their hands. And they sang a song of deliverance, even the Song of Moses. (Revelation 15) And so John sees the celebrations beginning. The party would go on as they entered the banqueting hall at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Revelation chapter 19 (below) is our scripture passage. It clearly shows pre trib the  apocalyptic context of this magnificent love feast between The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel and His covenant people.

"Back on Board: Greg Louganis"... An Intimate Documentary Film

    in Movies

“Back on Board: Greg Louganis” is an intimate portrait of the public triumphs and private struggles of trailblazing openly gay athlete Greg Louganis. In this episode, Nicholas Snow presents his coverage of Greg at the 2015 Palm Springs International Film Festival, and offers an encore presentation of a previous red carpet inter view with the Olympian.

A refreshingly candid documentary film about this four-time Olympic champion, “Back on Board” follows Greg Louganis over the past three years as he struggles with financial security and reunites with the sport he once dominated but not welcomed in. The threat of losing his house during the recent financial crisis forces Louganis to re-evaluate the choices, relationships, and missed opportunities of his career.

With unprecedented access, the film reveals the complicated life of an athlete whose grace, beauty, and courage sparked a worldwide fascination with diving. It chronicles Louganis’ rise from a difficult upbringing to nearly universal acclaim as the greatest diver ever, and from pioneering openly gay athlete with HIV to an overlooked sports icon. “Back on Board” is the engrossing story of an American legend as he re-emerges on the world stage to combat prejudice, promote tolerance, and return to the diving world after a long period of absence to act as a mentor to the next generation.
