Is a Paleo Diet Nutritionally Complete?

    in Health

Jen Broyles, Certified Holistic Health Coach and Digestive Wellness Expert, discusses the nutritional truth about the Paleo Diet.

The Paleo Diet has gained a lot of traction over the past few years, and with that, comes critics. In this podcast, Jen will address one objection you might hear about the paleo diet.

A common objection to the Paleo diet is that it is not nutritionally complete. This is due to the fact that paleo excludes all grains, legumes, and most dairy. It also eliminates all processed and refined foods.

Please join us Wednesday January 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. PST and 7:00 p.m. EST for a live show.  Our special guest is Wendy Myers.  A certified holistic health and nutrition coach, Wendy Myers’ has helped both individuals and corporations develop and maximize their personal and employee’s health goals. A healthy lifestyle doesn’t just include exercising and dieting, but multiple other factors as well. Wendy helps her clients evaluate their life style habits and assist them to accomplish their health goals.  As Author of "The Modern Paleo Survival Guide", Wendy outlines the ways that a Paleo diet can help you achieve your internal and external lifestyle goals. For years she's seen destructive habits that many people do not realize are negatively affecting their health but are socially accepted as beneficial. Wendy breaks down the constant misinformation that popular media outlets often dish out to their readers, explaining in detail all the discrepancies. Her Hair Mineral Analysis program is one of her most popular, deconstructing nutrition habits and optimizing mineral intake for revitalized hair. Her detox program and mineral therapy have been hailed by many as the program to follow, giving her clients amazing results.  Through Wendy’s Mineral Power Program, she teaches clients no matter how healthy they eat or take care of themselves, they CANNOT achieve true health —unless they purge heavy metals and environmental chemicals from their bodies and replenish lost minerals. Everyone has toxic metals and chemicals embedded in their tissues and must actively purge them from their body. This is the only way to truly reverse disease, heal the body and meet your health goals. Today, a healthy diet and lifestyle alone are not enough to achieve optimal health given the levels of toxins in the environment and our bodies.  You asked for it and we deliver!!!

Life Business and Money - The Paleo Diet

    in Business

Paleo diets are based on a simple premise—if the cavemen didn’t eat it, you shouldn’t either. So long to refined sugar, dairy, legumes, and grains (this is pre-agricultural revolution); hello to meat, fish, poultry, fruits, and veggies. What you eat and how much depend on your goals or the specific program you’re on, if you choose to follow one.   You can find most of what you need to know online, but a book makes a handy reference. The Paleo Diet, for example, outlines basic Paleo principles and offers three “levels” that allow for different degrees of cheating—three “open meals” per week on the “entry level” plan, two on “maintenance,” and just one on “maximal.” Depending on the level, you might also get “transitional” condiments (low-fat dressing and salsa) and drinks (coffee, beer, or wine in moderation) to wash down the meat and plants. You can use the levels as you like. Start with the first and move gradually to the more restrictive—or just stay put. For more dramatic changes, head right to the third.     Read more... http://www.stevenkaylive.com/article.php?id=195
