What Will Intimidate The Pacers in Playoffs?

    in Basketball

The Miami Heat do not intimidate the Indiana Pacers. That much was very, very clear in their matchup Wednesday night.

But you know what intimidates the Pacers? The moment.

We saw it last year in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals when they looked like deer in the headlights. And we saw it again Wednesday night when George Hill went to the line with 1.8 seconds left and a chance to put Indiana ahead by 3 -- and promptly missed both free throws.

My biggest question regarding the Pacers is whether they have the moxie and the confidence to get the job done in a winner-take-all game.

And we already know that the Miami Heat possess those characteristics.

More on that subject, plus a spirited defense of the Philadelphia 76ers, in this interview on 1070-TheFan with Michael O'Grady and Joe Staysniak on "The Grady & Big Joe Show" in Indianapolis.

What the Paul George injury means for the Indiana Pacers and USA Basketball

    in Basketball

Paul George suffered a guesome injury a few days ago in the USA Basketball scrimmage. What does this mean for the Pacers in 2014-15? What about the direction of the Pacers going forward? Should they make a rebuilding move before or during this season? Can they even make the playoffs this season? In regards to USA Basketball, will this change things going forward? Will guys elect to not play in international play, or will their teams restrict players from being a part of USA Basketball?

    Aquaculture Students Present…Aquaculture

Students are involved in growing tilapia, catfish, Koi, goldfish, and rainbow trout. They are responsible for feeding the fish, flushing filters, and testing water quality. In the spring, students spawn goldfish and Koi. Each year the tilapia fingerlings are collected to replenish our quantity. The tilapia are cooked at the yearly fish fry.

The fish waste from the filters is used as fertilizer on our garden next to the fishery. Students raise plants in hydroponic beds inside and outside the fishery.

Take a tour of the fishery by clicking here.

We are very proud of our aquaculture program. It is one of the few programs of this caliber in the state.Project Coordinator: Jeannie Ward Community Chapter Volunteer: Teresa Jackson

Can the Wizards come back to beat Pacers?

    in Basketball

I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of trying to figure out the Indiana Pacers. Has there ever been a team that was such a power house for 80 percent of the season that has collapsed like these guys have? They are excruciating.

One more win gets them into the Eastern Conference finals, but they were nowhere near ready to put the hammer down Tuesday night in Game 5 against the Washington Wizards.

Marcin Gortat looked like a Polish Wilt Chamberlain in shooting 13-for-15 with 16 rebounds, and if he can do that again -- and get some help from Brazilian milk carton material Nene -- there is no reason why Washington cannot take care of business at home and force a Game 7.

But will the Wizards have a home court advantage? They are 0-2 in this round so far in the nation's capital, including their 65-point stinker in Game 3. Why is that?

We take a closer look in this interview with the Sports Junkies on 106.7 The Fan in D.C.
