This week on Bark Out Loud, our special guest is Jackie Cameron, Director of Spay and Neuter Division at Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue. Please join us to hear the latest news on pet overpopulation in Kern County California and what is being done about it. And to get an inside view from a rescue, on how effective spaying and neutering is, and how you can help the mutts!
Once the starving people have been saved from a death of starvation, they become well nourished, healthy and robust once again, and immediately begin through the lack of information regarding birth control to procreate in an uncontrolled manner by having children in large numbers that amount to many millions each year. Not only does this procreation immediately create further problems of hunger and energy demands, but it also leads to medical, spatial and financial problems, to name but a few. Likewise, the descendants of these people once again compound terrestrial mankind's excessive growth problem.
There is a single ideological current running through a seemingly disparate collection of noxious modern political and scientific movements, ranging from militarism, imperialism, racism, xenophobia, and radical environmentalism, to socialism, Nazism, and totalitarian communism. This is the ideology of antihumanism: the belief that the human race is a horde of vermin whose unconstrained aspirations and appetites endanger the natural order, and that tyrannical measures are necessary to constrain humanity. The founding prophet of modern anti-humanism is Thomas Malthus (1766-1834), who offered a pseudoscientific basis for the idea that human reproduction always outruns available resources. Following this pessimistic and inaccurate assessment of the capacity of human ingenuity to develop new resources, Malthus advocated oppressive policies that led to the starvation of millions in India and Ireland.
While Malthus’s argument that human population growth invariably leads to famine and poverty is plainly at odds with the historical evidence, which shows global living standards rising with population growth, it nonetheless persisted and even gained strength among intellectuals and political leaders in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Its most pernicious manifestation in recent decades has been the doctrine of population control, famously advocated by ecologist Paul Ehrlich, whose bestselling 1968 antihumanist tract The Population Bomb has served as the bible of neo-Malthusianism. In this book, Ehrlich warned of overpopulation and advocated that the American government adopt stringent population control measures, both domestically and for the Third World countries that received American foreign aid. (Ehrlich, it should be noted, is the mentor of and frequent collaborator with John Holdren, President Obama’s science advisor.)
For approximately every 100 years of life you live out on earth, the spiritform needs about 152 years in the beyond. As a result of overpopulation, a new consciousness and new personality can incarnate with the reincarnation of the spiritform a short time after death, for example a half an hour later. Such cases are very rare, even with overpopulation, however it bears mentioning that in such cases the new personality has to cope with the chronicles from the storage banks, because such individuals receive strong impulses of remembrances of the earlier personality. This happens because there wasn't enough time in between incarnations, and there is still a strong connection to the material existence.
After death, the spirit-form and consciousness-block pass over into their respective levels in order to process the accumulated data. I will omit the process of the spirit-form, although this naturally is just as important, because the spirit-form determines the exact time-point of the incarnation of the consciousness-block, though in some ways its different processes, as I see it, are easier to understand.

Conservation versus Environmentalist is a constant battle as many states look to find ways to deal with an overpopulation of animals, whether they be deer, black bear, wild pigs, racoons or beavers.
While some believe that man has wreaked havoc on the environment and that all animals have a right to live just as much as humans, conservationists believe in balance and controlling and managing wildlife so it is beneficial to both animals and humankind.
Some animals have been hunted to near extinction and due to laws protecting them their numbers have increased dramatically. States are now dealing with over-population of many animals and are grappling with ways to deal with the problems overpopulation has created, whether it be the transmittal of diseases to car accidents to damage to farms and forests.
NJ, one of the most densely populated states, is dealing with this problem and the conflict that arises when one side does not believe hunting is the answer and that humans should alter their behavior and the conservation side that believes human involvement will make a better and safer environment.
Dan Roberts, writer for Ammoland, joins "Common Sense" to discuss conservation versus environmentalism and how hunting, fishing and the role of controlling and maintaining the environment allow men and wildlife to peacefully co-exist.
This week we meet Pasado's Safe Haven Sanctuary and learn about the childrens book JJ the American Street Dog
Pasado’s Safe Haven is one of the leading animal protection organizations in the United States dedicated to ending animal cruelty. Located on 85 pastoral and wooded acres outside of Seattle, Washington, the sanctuary is home to hundreds of animals including dogs, cats, and farm animals.
Maya has wanted a dog for as long as she can remember. Just when her parents decide to buy her one, her Uncle Jerry finds a homeless puppy that he can’t keep. Although Mom is skeptical about keeping a dog from the street, she agrees to take in the pup and they name him JJ. Before long, JJ warms his way into their hearts, and Maya and her family learn about homeless animals and how they can be a part of the solution to end pet overpopulation.
Through Maya’s eyes, the reader learns of alternatives to buying dogs from a breeder, or worse, from a pet store that gets dogs from puppy mills. The book addresses many aspects of the problem including stray animals, animals at shelters and rescues, what to do when you find an animal, and basic animal care. “JJ The American Street Dog” is appealing to children five to nine years old with its colorful illustrations and six-year-old heroine.
