Several years ago I saw the movie "The Persuit of Happyness." It still impacts my life to this day. The movie was about a man named Christopher Gardner. This show shares words of wisdom from this amazing man. Some of his words have wisdom he has shared over the years include:
(1). “The Cavalry Ain’t Coming. You’ve Got To do This Yourself.”
(2). “Make Your Vision Larger Than Yourself”
(3). “It’s Your Responsibility To Pursuit What Matters”
(4). “We were homeless, we were not hopeless. There’s a world of difference.”
(5). “Do something that you love. Whatever you’re going to do is going to be tough enough. Find something that gets you so excited that the sun can’t come up early enough in the morning because you want to go do your thing.”
“The future was uncertain, absolutely, and there were many hurdles, twists, and turns to come, but as long as I kept moving forward, one foot in front of the other, the voices of fear and shame, the messages from those who wanted me to believe that I wasn't good enough, would be stilled.”
“Others may question your credentials, your papers, your degrees. Others may look for all kinds of ways to diminish your worth. But what is inside you no one can take from you or tarnish. This is your worth, who you really are, your degree that can go with you wherever you go, that you bring with you the moment you come into a room, that can't be manipulated or shaken. Without that sense of self, no amount of paper, no pedigree, and no credentials can make you legit. No matter what, you have to feel legit inside first.”
During his first Power in a Half Hour segment, Coach Mark talks about changing your perspective from difficulties with obstacles to blessings. Then during the second half, Coach Mark talks about Failing is NOT an Option if you want to be a Success. Keep moving forward no matter what!
It's been said that the only constants in life are Death and Taxes. I'd like to add "Changes" to that! From Birth until our final breath, we are undergoing changes. Some people seem to float right through the changes in their life while others feel overwhelmed by the obstacles.

Throughout our lives, we will face difficult circumstances and obstacles. Sometimes, the road we choose leads us to a place of peace and prosperity. This Tuesday, we will spend time talking with two people who are impacting the lives of others and leaving a legacy for generations to come.
Derrick Wilburn is the founder and chairman of Rocky Mountain Black Conservatives, American Conservatives of Color, and BlackandConservative.com. His organizations and personal mission bridge the gap that exists between conservative political causes and parties and ethnic minorities in the U.S.
Jenny Wilkes Ferguson is a 44-year-old mother of two, who, despite adversities, refused to let society label her children's home "broken." She continues to encourage and inspire parents--especially single parents--as they strive to raise successful, God-fearing children in the midst of society's negative messages. Inspired by God and her own parents, she carries a message of hope and value to not only her children, but to every child she comes into contact with. She and her daughter Bailey Strong co-founded EduKids, Inc., to instill a love of learning in young children by teaching them hands-on science, art, and computer classes.
