For Friday August 9th 2013, our program will focus on Overcoming Adversity. Nietzsche’s Quote -“That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable” or the most common quote “You get up again because the alternative sucks” gives us two very different viewpoints. Everyone in some form or another experiences adversity, some people more than others and some adversity’s are worse than others. But each story means something unique and specific to the people involved. Whether we like it or not, adversity is part of life. Overcoming adversity is one of the biggest hurdles we face. As Havelock Ellis wrote, "Pain and death are part of life. To reject them is to reject life itself."

Our guest this week is Grandmaster Manny Sosa, President and founder of Victory Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan Assoc. Since 1998, Grandmaster Sosa, and his wife Vicki, have owned and operated Victory Academy, located in Bloomington, IL. Victory Academy is a multi-program center offering gymnastic, tumbling, dance, cheerleading, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo, with a peak enrollment of 765.
He has pioneered a unique program designed for children to learn the martial arts called "Mighty Kids", teaching students as young as 4 years old the beginning skills of Taekwondo.
Grandmaster Sosa is skilled as a martial artist and business owner who has enjoyed great success and devastating setbacks. We are excited to have him share the wealth of wisdom he holds for you, our listeners, as we finish this quarter strong!
