16Bit Assassins Episode 106: He started it.

    in Video Games

Ladies and gents, boys and girls, the 16Bit Assassins are back with another great episode. On episode 106, we talk about the Dragon Age Inquisition DLC that's a timed exclusive, sorry PS4 fans, Rust turns into a post-apocalyptic surval social experiment MMO, Toaster talks some Bloodborne, and a bit about the Handsome Collection, Dunny talks some Game of Thrones, and both discuss Tales from the Borderlands, and why pissing off the loader bot is a bad idea. Also on this episode we have some superhero news, as the supposed reason for the Batman/Superman fight coming out next year gets leaked on line, stills from what appear to be the season finale of the Flash hit the interent, and Tyrese Gibson throws the lobby machine into full gear in an effort to land the Green Lantern role, and if you've seen the fan art, it's not a bad idea. Nintendo NX news, a truly disturbing horror game, and the usual banter and Star Wars references, all on episode 106, He started it.

Katie Ferrara - The Mini Concert

    in Music

This month I'm going to Austin to play at SXSW! Check out my tour dates here! I just finished making the flyer. :-)

In other news, the Beat Buddy Guitar Pedal has released the video I made for them on Youtube! Last month they put it up on their facebook page and it got over 1,000 likes. I am working on more pedal demos at the moment so stay tuned for those. The Beat Buddy is a Drum Machine Pedal I use for songwriting, and practicing guitar. I basically can control the drum beat as I play a song. Check out the video for more info. This video is also featured on the Beat Buddy Website at http://mybeatbuddy.com/

This year I have also been playing at a lot of flea markets and farmer's markets in LA including the Melrose Trading Post, Altadena Farmer's Market, and So Cal Etsy Guild and I have caught the attention of an online magazine called Roots Revival Co! The magazine features small businesses, artists, musicians, and handmade crafts! With that said, I have an idea to start a blog on my website about my experience street performing. It will include info about where to busk, how to set up, what to bring, what songs to play, and what gear to buy!

You can check out the article here: http://www.rootsrevivalco.com/category/zine/

March 24, 2015 10pm (PDT)- The Haunted World of Brian Cano

    in Paranormal

On Haunted Collector, Brian is the Tech Specialist, responsible for the implementation and use of all the gadgets and gear. Best known for mixing old and new techniques of investigating, he often finds himself doing the physical tasks, such as crawling under houses and up into attics. He also serves as second in command of the team and helps manage the deployment of the crew itself. Ultimately, his goal as an investigator is to measure, quantify and get empirical evidence to support the claims of paranormal activity reported while maintaining his skeptical edge.

Within SCARED! his role is that of a parapsychologist; the Scientist.  His belief is that the universe, in all its diversity and complexity, is a system that operates within a set of laws and rules, even if we don't understand them yet.  This mindset allows him to accept the unknown more readily and attempt to bridge the gap between Science and Faith.

In addition to Haunted Collector and SCARED!, Brian can be found touring the country appearing at paranormal events as well as lecturing on the college circuit during the Fall. Brian's work has been praised in several publications, including TAPS Paramagazine and Haunted Times Magazine.  Various episodes of SCARED! have won awards at several film festivals, most recently, "Haunted Snug Harbor" which won Best Cinematography at the 2013 Macabre Faire Film Festival.

His latest focus has been on spreading, "#Paralosophy", a term he coined as a mash-up of paranormal and philosophy.  "There are a lot of people out there doing the Work now and I'd like them to think more and do less.  Really consider the whys before addressing the hows."

    Low Down and Dirty 3/24/2015

    in Radio

This week on Low Down and Dirty we have a jammed packed show. First up we have Danny Serrano General Manager of the Bridgeport Speedway. Serrano handles the ‘day to day’ tasks at the race track during the week and also works close with the drivers, fans, sponsors, and employee staff on race day. Danny is going to cover all the activities leading up to Saturdays 3rd Annual 60over Special/Doug Hoffman Memorial event which will serve as the first hand in the 2015 Poker Series.

Next we will have Ryan Smith “The Kunkletown Kid”.  Ryan has recently released the news that he will spend the first month with the All Stars before making a determination about how long he can stay on the road full time. He also has planned to fill in his schedule of approximately 60-to-65 races with local events in Pennsylvania as well as select World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races on the East Coast. Ryan will get us up to date on this aggressive schedule.

This week we kick the sprint car wars into high gear locally and we got one of the young lions in the area. Brent Marks from Myerstown PA already has a Top-Five finish at the Lincoln 'Icebreaker' and has big plans for the upcoming season. The 19M race team plans on being at Williams Grove this Friday night but you may be surprised what happens after that. Brent will be with us to fill in the blanks.
