Join a group of African American co-authors (The Memory Keepers), Harris Bailey, Jr., Bernice Bennett, Ellen Butler, Ethel Dailey and Vincent Sheppard to discuss a collaborate book about their ancestors in Edgefield, South Carolina.
You will find in Our Ancestors, Our Stories an historical overview of life and events in South Carolina, and particularly Edgefield, and a compilation of five unique stories depicting the discovery of the African American experience. Through these stories, the rich value of using primary and secondary sources will become evident as each discovery examines relationships in the home, the neighborhood and the community.
Members of the Memory Keepers, a group of descendants of the Old Edgefield District (South Carolina) African American diaspora and one historian, join Jane this evening to talk about their collaboration on their new book called Our Ancestors, Our Stories. Tonight's show includes Bernice Bennett, Harris Bailey, Jr., Ellen Butler and Vincent Sheppard.
The Memory Seekers came together to share their family stories, create a family legacy, and fulfill a vision to write and publish a book about their African American ancestors.
This book offers you insights into the African American experience in Edgefield County, South Carolina through the eyes of five very different authors, who have a strong belief that it is their responsibility to tell these stories. They want their ancestors to be remembered as individuals who lived, loved, worked, survived, raised families, and had faith in God. Through their walks in life from slavery to freedom, they left a legacy.
Having our eyes fixed on Jesus instead of our circumstances and problems or others will keep us on track. We can successfully run the race and serve the Lord with confidence. If we depend on Jesus and trust in Him completely without wavering, and when we do at times waver or doubt trluy know that He will never leave us nor forsake us then we can truly say we know Him. Iyou know Jesus you will know peace, if you know His peace you will walk in His peace.

Mandy Eppley interviews acclaimed international author, speaker and sacred activist Andrew Harvey. They will be talking about his amazing story and the theme of Spiritual Fortitude - the 5th Step from The Model of Heart-Centered Grief.
Andrew Harvey is Founder Director of the Institute of Sacred Activism, an international organization focused on inviting concerned people to take up the challenge of our contemporary global crises by becoming inspired, effective, and practical agents of institutional and systemic change, in order to create peace and sustainability. He is considered an expert on the poetry of Rumi and has written and edited over 30 books including The Hope and his most recent Radical Passion: Sacred Love and Wisdom in Action. He has also been a featured speaker and leader of workshops for The Shift Network.
Marianne Williamson says this about Andrew,"Every age has its teachers, who keep the eternal truths alive for all of us. And when a generation is very, very lucky, it encounters a teacher so illumined that the words he delivers must be illumined as well. In the case of Andrew Harvey, the light he sheds is like a meteor burst across the inner sky.”
Tonight on UNQUALIFIED. We are calling it the GUMBO show because we have a lot to talk about. Join us tonight!
Father Hopper serves two Catholic Parishes in the Archdiocese of Lexington Kentucky.Tonight, Father Hopper will give his testimony of his road to the Catholic Faith.
Matthew 4:18-22 is the story of the call of the first Disciples. Today, the Lord is still calling forth men who are willing to drop everything to answer this call.
“Duc in Altum” means to “Put out into the deep” (Luke 5:4)! Here Jesus instructed Simon (Peter) to “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Jesus is calling all of us to be fishers of men.
Here at Deepertruth, we set out to go forth into the deep water where we can delve into the mystery of our Holy Catholic Faith (Ephesians 3:1-3).
I am honored to have served with Father Hopper in Korea and played a small part of his coming home to the Catholic Faith.
The Virgin Mary was instrumental in calling Father Hopper to be one of her sons making him a prince of the Church (Psalms 45:17).
In answering her call, Father Hopper has chosen the higher portion of serving Christ becoming a priest in His Kingdom (Revelation 5:10).
1 Peter 2:9-10 states, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were ‘no people’ but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy.”
