Welcome to Discovering Taoist Wicca. Our bodies and our psyches are profoundly influenced by the seasons. Find out how the wisdom of the seasons can help you unlock your potential and use this powerful energy to balance your life. Join host, Suzy Peltier (Lady Red Hawk) for more on Taoist Wicca, and she’ll show you how you can use the Wheel of the Year as a ritual calendar system for personal growth and social change.
This shows’ conversation will focus on the third sabbat of the waxing year – Ostara, which is named for Ostara, the Saxon Goddess of the dawn, new beginnings, life, and creativity. Join Suzy with John Carosella to discuss balance, and the integration of our goals and objectives into the play - and work - of Springtime.
Suzy Peltier has served the Goddess and the principle of holism (wholism) for nearly thirty years as a Third Degree Wiccan Priestess, Reiki Master Teacher, Massage Therapist, and Hypnotherapist. With a Degree in Holistic Health and a background in Medical Anthropology, she has pursued a burning question: “How is ritual used for healing?” Twenty years ago Lady Red Hawk established Dragon Spirit Taoist Wiccan Circle, which continues to grow with practitioners and circles in the U.S., Holland, Ireland, France and Peru.

As has become the Spring tradition, I share with listeners my Spring Ostara Meditation which can be used throughout the season. The Spring Meditation is intended to raise awareness of this budding season of abundance and fertility, as well as suggest religious tolerance and show how we might find common ground with progressive Christianity.
With Ostara only two days away from this show, Lady T welcomes back Shandarramon to Wicce Women to discuss The Sabbat of Ostara, how and why we worship it and the many ways to celebrate it.
The discussion will focus upon the history of Easter and the rich associations between the Christian faith 'and The practices of Paganism. The Easter history and traditions that are practiced today "evolved" from Pagan symbols and celebrations: from the ancient Goddess Ishtar to Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny. Easter, perhaps the most important of the Christian holidays, celebrates the Christ's resurrection from the dead following his death on Good Friday. . . a rebirth that is commemorated around the Vernal Equinox, historically a time of Pagan celebration that coincides with the arrival of spring and symbolizes the arrival of light and the awakening of life around us.
Eggs, Bunnies, The Dawn that arrives with Resurrection of life, and the celebration of Spring all serve to remind us of the cycle of rebirth and the need for renewal in our lives. As The Wheel turns once more,we are reminded of tolerance and as such gracefully accept the interwoven tradions of Pagans and Christians.
This informative show is a must 'see' and Lady T welcomes callers to offer their opinions and questions during this broadcast.
Ostara is a Neo-Pagan festival celebrated on the spring equinox, which is between March 19 and March 22 in the Northern Hemisphere. On the spring and fall equinoxes, day and night are of equal lengths. Ostara celebrates the coming of spring, new growth and fertility. For Wiccans and some other Pagans, Ostara is the day when the Goddess and God (variously identified as Mother Earth and the Green Man or the Young Maiden and Sun God) join in sacred marriage. The Goddess will conceive, and give birth in nine months. The increased growth and strength of nature in the spring is due to the rising power of the Goddess and God.

The number, "13"
The Bible assigns '13' the meaning of "rebellion against constituted authority", plus the depravity that caused Satan to rebel against God.
The occultist assigns '6' to represent the number of man, and the number '7' to represent the number of divine perfection. Thus, as a person climbs that "Jacob's Ladder" toward self-perfection in the realm of the occult, the number '13' represents the state of divine perfection, self-achieved perfection, and Illumination (6+7 = 13).
