Our home, "Alla Madonna del Piatto", is a small agriturismo, a bed and breakfast inn in the Umbrian hills. The centuries-old farmhouse overlooks the beautiful town of Assisi. All rooms have a magnificent view of Assisi's world famous basilica, dedicated to St. Francis and housing some of Italy's most important art treasures.
Our agriturismo is a quiet oasis both day and night, an ideal spot to unwind. You will awake every morning to the sights of the rolling Umbrian hills and the medieval town of Assisi perched on the Subasio mountain. You can linger for hours watching the sheep graze in the fields, sunbathe on the terracotta-paved terrace or sip a glass of wine under the grapevine arbor.
If, on the other hand, you can tear yourself away from the garden and its panorama, our bed and breakfast is conveniently located to explore Umbria's beautiful medieval hill towns. Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto and Perugia, as well as Tuscany's splendid Renaissance city Siena, Cortona and the Chianti wine region are all within about an hour’s drive. If you enjoy walking, the Subasio natural park and the Franciscan Path of Peace are only minutes away.
Letizia and I discuss all the wonderful dishes she teaches her guests in her cooking classes, how to shop for just the right ingredients at the market like farro, pecorino cheese, truffles, porchetta, wild asparagus, mushrooms, beans, Umbrian Olive Oil, and how to get the most out of your visit to Umbria with wonderful day-trips throughout the nearby cities, towns, and regions.

camera may possibly be surpassed only by her savvy in front of the computer.
She has traveled extensively educating other photographers in the areas of
creativity and Photoshop. Heather’s storytelling approach to wedding and portrait photography has earned
her Photographer of the Year awards, Fuji’s and Kodak’s across the Northern
Light Region, as well as in the National and International arena’s, a National
Top Ten Wedding album, Best of Images Fine Art winner, and most notably the
Silver Award in Orvieto, Italy. Her work has been featured in the Professional
Photographers of America magazine, Kansas City Bridal magazine, and most
recently the PPA’s “See the Difference” advertising campaign. A lifelong learner, Heather holds numerous degrees through the Professional
Photographers Association: Masters of Photography, Craftsman, and Certified

of “just doing what I enjoy.” What she enjoys is creating moving images that tell
