On Thursday May 28th, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will
review the 2008 book "The Music of Pythagoras" by musicologist Kitty
Ferguson. This is a wonderfully erudite and deeply meaningful book on
the accomplishments, and lasting influence of the most important of the
pre-Socratean philosophers, and perhaps the most important ancient
avatar of the Western Esoteric Tradition. As a musicologist Ferguson is
able to fully expound on the master's development of "The Music of the
Spheres" from mythical Orpheus through Kepler to Close Encounters of the
Third Kind (we can all whistle that one). The Pythagorean harmonious
universe of music, mathematics, and geometry has been re-validated in
modern times with the advent of new theories in quantum physics. It was,
of course, the bed rock of Qabalah, Alchemy and Magick. We will
demonstrate some applications of the Pythagorean magical scale used to
activate psychic centers (chakras) and discuss the employment of these
techniques in magical operations. So tune in, tune up and we'll sing
along with the planets.
THE MISSING FREQUENCY OF HA SHEM
THE MISSING SIGIL OF THE HA SHEM
There are 6 notes out of the first syllable of each line and I’ve composed my hymn such that these syllables, also, fall on their respective notes. So, ut, re, mi, fa, sol, and la. But aren’t there 7 notes? Ah, yes, my friend. For now, we only use 6 notes and we call them the hexachord. The 7th note “Si” won’t be added until the 16th century by Giovanni Battista Doni. Giovanni will be nice enough to use the initials of Sancte Iohannes to name the 7th note.
The universe is based on harmonic series such as 72, 144, 432. And 144 (a "C" tone in hertz) is a perfect harmonic of the speed of light, which is 144,000 nautical miles (144,000 minutes of arc per Earth grid second) in the vacuum of space. Each of these harmonics are literally a mirror, or a cascade of mirrors within mirrors, that 8 hz can look into. For example 144 is 18 x 8 hz, and 72 is 9 x 8 hz. The way that light travels in space is thus a 144 decimal harmonic (144:144,000),
The archaic Egyptian instruments that have been unearthed, so far, are largely tuned to 432 hz. In ancient Greece (the school book original place for music) their instruments were predominantly tuned at 432 hz.
Within the archaic Greek Eleusenian Mysteries, Orpheus is the god of music, death and rebirth, and was the keeper of the Ambrosia and the music of transformation (his instruments were tuned at 432 hz).
An abjad is a type of writing system where each symbol always or usually stands for a consonant, leaving the reader to supply the appropriate vowel. WHY?
432 times 432 = 186624 the classic speed of light is 186400 miles/second, a difference of .001201. E=mc2 ---Einstein's famous equation of energy and matter - - where E= energy, m = matter, and c = the universal constant speed of light.
Mark Brathwaite is a Toronto native with a passion for art. At 25, he has forged a sizable body of work, in film, television, theatre, and music. His love for acting first began at age 5, when he was called to be a cowboy in a school play. In high school he had roles in the movies "John Q", "Cadet Kelly", and the TV-series "Soul Food". More recently, he can be seen in the new McDonald's "Still in Awe" commercial and upcoming webseries "Onwards and Upwards". The excitement of these projects have inspired him as he continues to carve a path for himself in the entertainment industry.
Recently, Mark has completed his Bachelor's degree in English and Drama at U of T's University College Drama Program (UCDP), which was a rigorous combination of practical and theoretical training. His voice, movement, and scene teachers are some of the best in Toronto. In addition to tackling Shakespeare, he has also done contemporary work like George F. Walker's "Heaven". In his final year, he played Orestes in "Electra" and Val in Tennessee William's "Orpheus Descending". With new projects on the horizon, Mark plans to make a lasting impact in film, television, and theatre.
Contemporary jazz keyboard player Alex Bugnon, nephew of trumpeter Donald Byrd, grew up going to the Montreux Jazz Festival in his hometown in Switzerland. He attended the Paris Conservatory of Music for two years, then moved to the U.S. and went to the Berklee School of Music, meanwhile performing as an accompanist to gospel groups. He spent four years working as a session musician in New York, backing urban and jazz performers such as Patti Austin, Freddie Jackson, James Ingram, and Keith Sweat. Signed to Orpheus Records, he released his debut album, Love Season, in 1989. It reached the pop charts and the Top 40 of the R&B charts, as did its follow-up, 1990's Head Over Heels. Subsequent releases -- 107 Degrees in the Shade (1991), This Time Around (1993), and Tales From the Bright Side (1995), the last on RCA Records -- all placed in the R&B charts. After five years away from recording under his own name, Bugnon signed to the jazz division of Narada Records, which marketed him as a jazz artist, and his sixth album, Alex Bugnon...As Promised, reached the contemporary jazz charts. He followed in 2001 with Soul Purpose.
Hush Music/Orpheus Enterprises label continues its long-standing legacy with the latest release from Andre Ward. Smooth Jazz’s top saxophonist is changing the atmosphere by fusing the elements of traditional Jazz, R 'n' B, Funk, Hip-Hop and Pop into an explosive sound that is incomparable. A master of the soprano, alto and tenor saxophone, flute and EWI (electronic wind instrument), the multi-dimensional musician is reinventing the genre with the release of his new album, CAUTION. CAUTION is a groundbreaking masterpiece executive produced by Beau Huggins featuring Jamie Knight, Naomi Emanuel and Janice Dempsey.
