This Sunday our BlogTalk radio program will cover the importance of carrying on oral tradition, and introduce our listeners to our WnT YouTube Channel. Join Billie Fidlin, president of WnT and Millie Chalk, member of the Board of Directors and part of the YouTube Channel team.
Oral tradition is the spoken relation and preservation, from one generation to the next, of a people's cultural history and ancestry, often by a storyteller in narrative form.
Oral tradition is cultural material and tradition transmitted orally from one generation to another. The messages or testimony are verbally transmitted in speech or song and may take the form, for example, of folktales, sayings, ballads, songs, or chants. In this way, it is possible for a society to transmit oral history, oral literature, oral law and other knowledge across generations without a writing system. It often refers to the transmission of cultural material through vocal utterance. WnT has brought some of the oral tradition to life in written format through our online magazine and by then sharing a oral recording of some of those stories on our YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/WhispernThunder
The historical marginalization of indigenous people, the dogma of stigma, the continued oppression of an entire race of people to the political and social edges of society cannot and must not continue. Telling the story begins the healing. Telling the story also begins the true understanding of a history of both tragedy and triumph.

What Christmas memories and traditions are we leaving to our children? Will there be a Christmas for them? Every day we see that evil is stripping away at Christmas and Jesus. The schools are afraid to have a Christmas play, or sing songs about Jesus. They can’t pray to Jesus or say Merry Christmas.
But yet, little children in Muslim countries showed grace under fire professing in their own words “We Love Jesus” and then were beheaded for refusing to submit to ISIS. Yet the world is afraid to say no to the Muslims and liberals, who hate God... The World won`t stand against this while living in the safety of their own peaceful countries. When will you Stand at the end of the sword...?
The blood of these innocent children show us how they Love Jesus. What are we going to say or do?
On Sunday Dec 21 at 11:00am PST call-in to this number (347) 826-7353, let you voice be heard for Jesus, send it around the world... say merry Christmas on air in your language or share a short story...
We dedicate this show to peace, hope, joy, and love. Help us share Christmas family traditions from the USA, Germany, Canada, South Africa, France, Serbia and everywhere there is love.
This Thursday, December 25th, we will have a special Christmas show starting an hour earlier than our usual show. Join us at 4:00 PM Eastern, 3:00 PM Central and 9:00 PM UK to celebrate Christmas day with us! We'll be playing a few Christmas songs as well as telling stories of Christmas traditions, both historical and personal. If you're alone on Christmas day, you don't have to be if you join us! Ho! Ho! Ho!!
We hope you've all enjoyed your holiday season, and that you topped it off with the Merriest Christmas you could muster. We hope you found joy, peace and gratitude in your day.
There are new 4th Thursday of each month hosts starting for the new year, but we covered and are covering for them back on Thanksgiving, and this Christmas night. The old salts who believe we should leave the lights on for the compromised in need/want...Live, not Memorex at times like these! None of us are alone.
Call in and share YOUR reflections of this holiday season. How did it compare to others? Where was YOUR head in the game? Was your Christmas Merry? Did you give or receive something special or memorable? Did you feel sad, happy or a combination of both?
One person with a dream come true is a past guest of mine from a Special Saturday Edition show on October 25th called Knock Out. Join this Christmas day special hour of Eating for Meaning as we discuss the traditions of feasting. We will go on a historical tour of the Christmas dinner, deconstructing it's pros and cons along the way. Why is feasting only one letter away from fasting?
