Monster X Radio with David Eliis of The Olympic Project

    in Science

David's involvement in research began by following web pages related to Bigfoot in the mid 1990’s. In 2005 David attended a Bigfoot conference and met many good people doing field research. By 2006 he was out in the woods learning and listening from other researchers. He became a BFRO member and field investigator. While doing this David quickly gravitated to ways of collecting evidence. This desire drove him to learn and become proficient at track casting and audio recording.

In 2009 David's path crossed with Derek Randles and Rich Germeau. He was invited to join the Olympic Project in 2010.

    Special interests:

    David Ellis Olympic Project

    in Paranormal

    Born 1952 Pullman, Washington
Raised in Western Washington From Grays Harbor to Clark County ( The wet side of the State)
Grandfather told me a personal story about an incident, on his farm, involving a 5' tall Monkey in the Late 1950's
Had my first Bigfoot encounter in 1963
1963 Shared that encounter during a show and tell in a 5th grade Library class. Librarian pulled me aside and said I must read Ivan Sanderson's book, Abominable Snowmen: Legend come to life. It was published in 1961. That Librarian must have known something personally about the subject, I am thankful she did.
1968 Interest faded until Argosy Magazine broke the Patterson Gimlin Film story, Also written by Ivan Sanderson. I still have the original February 1968 edition of the Argos magazine. Also digitized each page of the article.
1972,73 Worked Summers for the Forest Service cutting trail around the Mount St Helens area before the mountain blew. Had a couple of interesting things happen.
Bigfoot hiatus during the 80's and early 90's raising family and part owner of a business venture.
Mid 90's internet forums on Bigfoot caught my attention and I followed bigfooters chasing the illusive creature.
2006 became a BFRO field investigator. Met and investigated reported incidents. Took my wife on an expedition, she saw eye shine of a very large and tall Hominid.

It is mandated by YHWH for us to come together and pray: we are a nation of people with dual nationalities and we have to open dialog as a nation to prepare ourselves and our families for the changes that are about to happen according to the Word. Children are won through the union of the man and the woman. Let’s remember our children learn what they live!

    TELLING THE STORY

    in Current Events

    SHARING THE STORY

Why is it so important for trauma and domestic violence victims to tell their stories? Are they just sharing cautionary tales, or does the telling make a difference?

It turns out that telling a trauma narrative does help with recovery for victims. Research also shows that sharing the story can also help minimize psychological effects that can follow.  At least one organization recognizes this and has helped survivors with the telling in at least one special project.

Brian Pinero is the chief programs officer at the National Domestic Violence Hotline and its youth-focused program, loveisrespect.  He’s going to talk with us about a project designed to facilitate survivors’ stories and the results of that project. Prior to joining The Hotline, he supervised youth shelter services, was an investigator at Child Protective Services and worked as a juvenile probation officer. Brian is a member of the National Advisory Board for Crisis Text Line and holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas.

Join us Saturday as we explore the importance of telling the story and how we can do that effectively. Call-in to share how your story or that of others has helped you deal with life experiences.  (646) 378-0430.

An Artist Speaks Season 4 Episode 11 with Guest Johnathan Herzberg

    in Art

Listen to this entertaing interview with host Michael Harris and up and coming young artist Johnathan Herzberg.  Johnahan works in an abstract nature.  He wants the audience to decide for themselves what they are seeing and feeling. When he’s creating, he rarely goes into a project with a plan, but lets it carry him through it and then suddenly its done. Generally this process creates a vividness of color and a mixing that allows for so many possibilities to pop out at the observer.

“My relationship with art was something of a hit upside the head it happened so suddenly. I started painting about 3 years ago one day when I was home from college. On a whim, I got out the spray paint and the air compressor and "went to town" on some poster board. Since then have tried working with many different techniques using mainly trial and error methods to hone my skills.  I like the idea that a group of people can look at the same painting and all see and feel completely different things.”
