Today I am speaking with Holley Kelley, credentialed Professional Gerontologist, with a Masters’ Degree in Applied Gerontology and a BA in Journalism and Psychology. Author of the book Sunrises and Sunsets: Final Affairs Forged with Flair, Finesse, and FUNctionality, her writing career actually started quite early with poetry, songs and short stories. She often performed her songs with local bands and at local events. During her early college years at Brenau University, she wrote an advice column for the college newsletter, had her short stories published, and worked at the college radio station. Around the age of 21, she was asked to write and officiate a custom funeral service. That event led her towards new focus in her career. She held a management position in the health care field, started a business writing personal eulogies, and finally left the health care industry to open her own senior-focused insurance firm. When she returned to Brenau to get her Gerontology Masters Degree, her book was born and she now writes and speaks about aging and advance care planning for the last phase of life.
On today's show, we will interview Cherry Frame, California Registered Nurse who will share some information about her nursing background and bring to light the financial devastation consumers face across the United States when chronic illness strikes the family.
The first decision people need to make is how do they want to prepare for the risk which affects 40% of the population, both young and old? I mean a young person can have an accident while skiing or become impaired in a car accident.
Does the person want to liquidate all their assets, 401K, real estate investments to meet monthly costs of $6,000 to $10,000 per month?
Next people need to talk with their family (siblings, spouses, children) and ask the question “what if something happens to mom or dad, husband or wife, or even the child, who is able to quit their jobs, alter their lifestyle to take care of someone possibly 24 hours per day?”
We at 321SetAppointments want to thank Nurse Frame for sharing this valuable information with our listening audience.
In both the Old testament and the new testament we see examples of how God's people, by putting faith into action, Great miracles were wrought by humble men who, in simple believing faith, acted upon God's Word.
Narada Michael Walden grew up as Michael in Kalamazoo, Michigan in a house filled with music always playing. He would beat along on pie tins and table tops, and at five years old when he received his first Toyland drum kit, that set his musical path. Fast forward to 19 when he was discovered by John McLaughlin who introduced him to his guru, giving him the name 'Narada' which means supreme musician. That set his spiritual path.
Producing pop music was just an extension of Narada's listening to what was hot coming up in Michigan, from 'Motown to Johnny Mathis and everything in-between.' He tells Robin how 12 year-old Stacy Lattisaw was his first big break as a producer; putting her and him on the map with Let Me Be Your Angel. He recalls, 'And then my phone started ringing from Clive Davis and you name it. Will you produce this person and this one? And I said yes to everybody. I blew up!'
Narada treats Robin to stories about some of the incredibly talented artists he's worked with over the years including Elton John, Sting and his Rainforest productions, Lionel Richie, Barbra Streisand and Whitney Houston; to name a few. He also talks about his new album Evolution and says the songs were inspired by the changes in him since fatherhood.

Polly grew up with six siblings in Mobile, Alabama, but was only 8 years old when her father died of lung cancer. Soon two neighborhood boys began to molest her, friends of her older twin brothers. A couple of years later she was assaulted by another neighbor and later by her older brother. She was able to break away from the abuse at the age of twelve, but was by then deep in the darkness of isolation. Polly is now a mother and grandmother, and has lived in Atlanta for the past 15 years and has become a devoted advocate for adult survivors of Child Sexual Abuse.
She began her organization, This One Step, to help older survivors of Child Sexual Abuse deal with the trauma of being part of what she has named, "The Unknown Generation" A generation of survivors who had nowhere to go for support. In her late teens she began writing as a coping mechanism to deal with the PTSD. Her three books, "Cider Blocks and Oven Racks", "Billy Wayne's Christmas Train" and "The Unknown Generation" will be available in early 2016. She has written many southern short stories which have been published in different publications. She is now hosting her own blogtalk radio show Monday through Friday beginning at 6:00am.
