Trust Funds, are they good thing or a hinderance? You know, it seems like more and more, people are being left with fortunes left by family members who have passed away. Probably the best example, or maybe the worst is, the Kardashians. Robert Kardashian Sr. who helped try the O.J. Simpson case, passed on and left his children a fortune. Granted, they are doing something with that fortune but, it has not been all roses for the "famous" family. The late Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who passed away earlier this year, decided early on(in 2004) not to let his children become known as "trust fund kids". So he left his $35 million dollar fortune to his long time companion,, and the mother of his three children.
Now look at us, the everyday working(Well....) man and woman. Most of us aren't in a position to set up a trust for a loved one, or loved ones. But for those that do, do you think it's a good idea? Do you think that having a trust helps or hurts the one we love? Does a trust negate responsibility? We'll talk about trusts and if they help or hurt us. This week. "On-Air.
DC REAL TALK LIVE RADIO SHOW – THIS SATURDAY MORNING (JULY 26TH) FROM 8:00AM TO 10:00AM. (EST) TOPIC: "CASE STUDY OF A BROKEN MAN” (PART TWO) – Many of us watched the television show “THE TEST” when Jay who has 33 children by 17 women was a guest along with 3 of the mothers, his 25 year old daughter, and Jay’s mother. As I watched this show I felt many different emotions and I would like to discuss them with you LIVE on radio this morning. Let’s do a case study on a man when he is broken and the results of it. Mostly importantly let’s talk about the remedy, let’s talk about redemption. Maybe it will help us to better understand our men and our children’s father.
Join me, Tony LB Word, and others this morning from 8:00am to 10:00am (EST) as we discuss this topic. You can listen to my show anywhere in the world by phone at (646) 721-9565 or by internet. You can also call in and give your opinion, looking forward to hearing from you.
The War Between the States was about state rights. The north was imposing tariffs out the wazoo on the south. Illegal tariffs, I might add.
Sure, the south wasn't perfect; who is? All I'm saying is that they were the ones ultimately in the right in that 19th century fiasco and they took the flack for it because the winners write the history books. No the true history is written by warriors.
If you want to argue with me, please, argue intelligently. I loath hippies.
Just remember two things: 1) THE NORTHERN STATES HAD MANY SLAVES; 2)The emancipation proclamation claimed (because it had no legal authority) to free only the slaves in the "rebelling states." Northerners were free to keep their slaves until the 13th Amendment.
After this atrocity more commonly known as the "Civil War," all clauses and amendments regarding states rights have been ignored in every case that didn't directly benefit the federal government.

This month, The Clarkie-Connection turns its focus on to several topics that may seem disparate but, actually, are not so dissimilar or unrelated. We'll begin with an historical perspective, taking a brief look at the famed "Niagara Falls Conference" of 1905 and how that led to the formation of the NAACP, before moving on to the adoption of the 14th amendment and how it addressed citizenship rights and equal protection of the laws. This will lead, directly, into a discussion of The Hobby Lobby case - currently in the news and, more specifically, the Supreme Court - and how that is shaping the national debate on religious freedom in America. We'll then pick up where we left off last month in our ongoing discussion of The State of Education in America by looking at the staggering reductions in matriculations of minority students within NYC's three specialized schools. Thirdly, we'll be shining a spotlight on how resiliency through racial/cultural identity, particularly for African-American youth, can positively impact academic achievement and success. Join us for a complex series of topical issues and see how we deftly interweave them over the course of the hour! Don't Miss This One! ~

Thousands of innocent people are released from incarceration every year. Most of them are released because they served their sentences. Between 5k and 10k people are wrongfully convicted each year. The Univ. of Mich. Law School Innocence Clinic says most wrongful convictions are caused by:
The U.S. Supreme Court has NOT determined that actually innocent people have a right to have their post-conviction evidence considered by courts. We consider it on this show and make a human rights demand to release the innocent.
