April 21st, 2016 John Ceretto NY State Assemblyman, 145th District

    in Politics

In this segment of the Vince Anello Show New York State Assemblyman John Ceretto is our guest. Assemblyman Ceretto and I discuss state issues and initiatives as well as local issues and initiatives.

On the local level, the Niagara Falls Water Board and their relationship with the ratepayers, city residents, is discussed at length. I advanced my hope that the public meeting be held with all five members of the Niagara Falls Water Board, Niagara Falls city government and the appointing authorities of the Water Board. Niagara Falls Water Board members appointed as follows: one by the governor, one by the New York State Senate representative, one by the New York State assembly representative, one by the mayor of the city Niagara Falls and the fifth one by the Niagara Falls city Council.

The lack of communication and cooperative work relationship was totally exposed during the two years of the frozen water lines fiasco on 72nd St. and various other smaller areas in the city.

Just recently another issue was brought to light. The lack of maintenance of fire hydrants. This is a more dangerous situation confronting public health and safety in the city Niagara Falls.

School funding for local public schools and aid for street construction are also discussed by assemblyman Ceretto in this segment.

Nanotech Utica NY- Ties to Albany, GE Aerospace, IBM

    in Business

Yesterday, April 4th, 2016, WIBX & Keeler in the Morning had guests Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi. They made the case quite convincingly that nanotech was indeed on the way, but it would still take more time. In this fifteen minutes we discuss this and other news pertaining to nanotech Utica NY, Albany NY and more!

History: The Utica-Rome area has endured a continual flow of negative news. The U.S. Department of Defense Base Realignment and Closure Commission in 1993 dealt a big blow to the area and Utica-Rome never seemed to bounce back. Unfortunately, this kind of constant negative feedback starts to breed an overall sense of negativity and citizens of the area needed a break. Well, there have been a series of unprecedented positive news events recently, indicating that Utica might be experiencing a resurgence.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced on October 10th, 2013 that six leading global technology companies will invest $1.5 billion to create ‘Nano Utica,’ the state’s second major hub of nanotechnology research and development. The consortium, according to the October 10th announcement, of leading global technology companies that will create Nano Utica are led by Advanced Nanotechnology Solutions Incorporated (ANSI), SEMATECH, Atotech, and SEMATECH and CNSE partner companies, including IBM, Lam Research and Tokyo Electron. The consortium will be headquartered at the CNSE-SUNYIT Computer Chip Commercialization Center.

Good news about businesses opening, Nano Utica, a new entrepreneurial incubator called  thINCubator, which I reported last month, and what seems to be a new sense of team-work in the area seem to indicate a bounce-back. According to New York State Assemblyman Anthony J. Brindisi, from the 119th district, the Nano Utica project was, “...a bipartisan team effort...”

KELLY O'CONNELL AM 1450: TITANS OF NY

    in Politics

In the dawning of April twenty, sixteen the outline of the GOP race is now emerging. The previous days spectacle of voterless primaries, where the always smug and superior Ted Cruz swept up votes like so much fallen candy off the sweetshop floor is over. The hard hitting reality of insulting the mores of one of America’s most populous states has sunk in -- and it was a disaster for Ted. To hold oneself above a set of ideas is one thing, to attempt to lord over an entire population another.

Increasingly, the arguments against Trump have fallen by the wayside. His naysayers, tormentors and attackers have also fallen in a manner hardly ever seen. The latest being Debbie “strawberry” Fields whose lies about being attacked by Trump’s campaign manager were revealed by the tape and her charges rejected by the police. And now she files a vanity lawsuit against the Donald.

Whatever the future holds in the GOP, it would appear not to include Kasich, and has little promise for mr Inside/Outside Cruz who claims to be everything iin this election -- except honest.

Meanwhile, in the Dem camp forces are coalescing around Hillary who also won. Like last week’s leftovers, Hillary may be hardly toothsome, but barely palatable, yet still retains the status of the only dish in town.

Who will win now that NY is fading in the rearview mirror? Stay tuned, Sportsfans!
