SPECIAL GUEST: ASSEMBLYWOMAN CLAUDIA TENNEY
TOPIC: NY SAFE ACT, HERKIMER SHOOTING, AND THE CONTINUING PUBLIC OUTRAGE OVER INFRINGEMENT OF 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS
Mr. Brett A. Scudder hosts a 2hrs special on the NY SAFE Act (Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act) to bring awareness to the bill and what it means for our communities across the state. We have major concerns with the mental health impacts of the bill and will be discussing them. We invited legislators, advocates, community leaders, clergy and people to join us on the call and we look forward to what they will bring to the discussion. The Governor should have consulted with other groups on this and if he did, they certainly didn't understand the implication of their decision.
The legislation includes provisions to keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons and potentially dangerous mental health patients, and ban high capacity magazines and assault weapons. Under the legislation, New York will be the first state in the nation to ban any magazine that can hold more than seven rounds and run instant background checks on all ammunition purchases at the time of sale. The legislation will allow authorities to track ammunition purchases in real time to alert law enforcement to high volume buys, and will include a statewide standard requiring recertification of pistol permits every five years. The legislation also closes a private sale loophole to ensure all gun purchases are subject to a background check, and toughens criminal penalties on those who use illegal guns. "The new law will limit gun violence through common sense, reasonable reforms that include addressing the risks posed by mentally ill people who have access to guns and banning high capacity magazines and lethal assault weapons," Governor Cuomo said. "This legislation is not about hunters, sportsmen, or legal owners who use their guns appropriately. It is about reducing gun violence and making New York a safer place to live. I thank leadership of both the Assembly and Senate for their action on this important legislation."
LET'S DISCUSS IT...

"The Mad Scientist of Sports" Nick Ficorelli returns. However, this is not the average everyday sports show he is bringing back to the air waves. "The Mad Scientist" has created his own personal sports lab, and you, the audience, as well as many of his special guests, will be his test subjects. He will throw theories out, and you never know where they will be coming from. He will keep everyone guessing, and he will open his lab to any and all comers. Be prepared for "mad science" of sports at its best.
This week is a special epsiode of The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab, as at 10pm, he welcomes Kansas City Royals legend Willie Mays Aikens into the lab. Aikens was once one of the most feared hitters of the late 1970' and early 1980's with the Royals, helping lead Kansas City to the AL pennant in 1980. However, drugs overcame him, and he ended up in prison for almost 20 years. However, since his release in 2008, Aikens has has spoken at schools about his experiences and to the Royals’ young players, always hoping to return to baseball. In November 2008, apologized to Royals fans and the people of Kansas City in the Kansas City Star. In 2011, he returned to the Royals Family in the organization, and has since wrote a book about his rise, fall and rebirth "Safe At Home". As an extra added attraction, JP Muzio, former host of The Sports Ministry and Off The Wall, will be joining me on the interview.
Also appearing this week - 1030pm, Andrew Garda of NJ.com and Bleacher Report to talk some New Jersey college sports (Rutgers, Seton Hall and more); 11pm, Derek Helling of Outside Pitch MLB returns to preview the American League West; 1130pm, Matt Zemek of The Student Section to talk some NCAA Basketball and a Preview to March Madness.
The beacons are lit, the experiments are set, and "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab" is open for study!!!

Executive actions on immigration have long history
President Obama’s executive action to protect millions of unauthorized immigrants from deportation is an act that both follows and departs from precedents set by his predecessors.
As immigrant advocates — and the White House itself — point out, presidents have a long history of using their discretionary enforcement powers to allow people to enter and remain in the country outside the regular immigration laws. But Obama’s move offers relief to more people than any other executive action in recent history — about 3.9 million people, or roughly 35% of the estimated total unauthorized-immigrant population — a point that some opponents have used to differentiate Obama’s action from those of past presidents.
"Johnny Strozier Keeping It Real" is live and on air right now and every Saturday at 9pm EST. Dave Koch would say that Johnny "re-invented himself." Johnny Strozier is keeping it real on "Human Rights Demand" channel. Call-in number (347)857-3293. Strozier was a Georgia inmate for 46 years, from the age of 10 in 1968 until 2013. He kept doing things that lengthened his sentence until he said he had a conversion experience while behind bars. Now he encourages released inmates and youths to think right and act right so that things for them will go right.
Please gather your teens and let them be "scared straight." Call people who are reentering society, also, and tell them they should hear Johnny Strozier keeping it real! Despite ten years in solitary confinement and other cruelty that Johnny experienced, he is not bitter but interested in helping others to avoid his fate.
It's Not About Right and Left. It's About Right and Wrong!
Let's see, should you go out tonight on the ice covered roads in the middle of a winter storm or sit home in the warmth and learn fron the nation's #1 expert about how smart meters and the Smart Grid are literally taking away your power? Tonight, renowned expert Kelly Pascucci joins us to bring us up to speed on how our utility companies are using seduction and subversion to make us comfortable with allowing them to control the very temperature of our homes. Kelly has spent years travelling and speaking to educate Missourians on this approaching storm. Join us tonight, call and chat with Kelly, stay home, stay safe, and stay warm; now and for years to come.
Then, we will speak again with Lloyd Sloan about the amendment process and where we took a wrong turn in our fight to take back our government. Why aren't we talking about the specific changes that need to be made? How can we continue to follow down a path that seems to have no objective but the path itself? Why do we continue to follow people proceeding toward and rallying for monumental change when they cannot or will not even enlighten us on what change they mean? Hope and Change? Heard that one before.
Join us tonight at 7PM for an exciting episode. You can call and participate on the studio line at 347-677-1835.
