Are you a therapist, nurse or other Health Care Professional feeling overworked and underappreciated?
Do you sometimes have difficulty setting boundaries with patients or their families?
Are you frustrated by patients who cannot or will not follow through with recommendations?
If you answered "yes" to the above questions, you will want to join me and my guest, Clinical Pscyhologist, Dr. Angelo Domingo.
Over the course of his clinical career, Dr. Domingo has gained an awareness for the ways in which mental and physical illness, and environmental stressors combine to impact an entire family. Individualized treatment plans may include: stress management, psycho-education, relaxation, meditation, and traditional talk therapy based on each patient or family's individual needs.
With an active psychology practice at Parkinson Place, in Sarasota, Florida, Dr. Domingo has also developed a skill for helping other health care professionals set healthy boundaries with patients and families. When memory problems or dementia impact a patient's participation in treatment, he can help therapists develop behavior modification strategies which may improve patient adherence.
Face it, we wouldn’t be working in health care if we didn’t care about people, but, sometimes,we need a little self-care.
So, grab your lunch, and join the discussion.

Awareness is 9/10s of survival. When you carry a license of any sort good or bad you become a target. People assume only "bad" nurses and doctors are dragged in front of the law. often it's minority nurses who run afoul of jealous co-workers and backstabbing coniving managers. Often hospitals hire and keep on staff nasty hateful racist because they do the nasty dirty work no one else will do. But let's also talk about dirty nurses who backstab other nurses, let's talk about messed up administrative hearings and crooked judges and more importantly let's talk about Jonathan Cooper, Esq. the minion who works for the AG's office offing innocent nurses to bolster his rep.
If you are a soap lover, or just someone who loves a great story, you are in for a real treat! Actresses Tina Sloan and Gloria Loring are coming to Feisty Side of Fifty Radio.
Tina spent 26 years ministering to the needs of her patients as nurse Lillian Raines on Guiding Light. Gloria took to the stage on Days of Our Lives as songstress, Liz Chandler. On their respective soaps, these women endured a tormented existence filled with doomed marriages, disastrous love affairs, murder and attempted murder, incarceration, unruly offspring and a multitude of tortuous twists inherent to the lives of women on daytime TV.
In real life, however, Tina and Gloria are happy, healthy and enjoying the many blessings of being on the Feisty Side of Fifty. They continue to perform and have gone on to write highly successful books.
Both of these fascinating women have lots to share and will be joining us to reveal some of their more memorable experiences as actresses and authors. This promises to be one lively show for sure!

She left the military to pursue her doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin and to continue her interest in near-death phenomena-- particularly as experienced by soldiers and by children. Corcoran is a contributor to When Ego Dies: A Compilation of Near-Deathand Mystical Conversion Experiences and the lead investigator in the Combat Veteran NDE Project.
The inmates and staff of the Rainbow Asylum engage in a massive orgy lead by the notorious and fabulous Miss Debbie Demure. The Gimp squeals with delight, the Poet Bomber gets philosophical, and the Nurse holds up the score cards.
Chris Barton, Assistant Director of Education and Workforce Transformation, South West London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust.
A Nurse by profession, Chris has worked in mental health as a clinician and operational manager for the last 17 years, most recently leading the Trust’s Listening into Action Programme, which was shortlisted for the 2014 Health Service Journal Staff Engagement Award.
Join us as we discuss how employee engagement can have a significant impact on the quality of care provided within health services. Empowering and enabling staff to be able to innovate and develop services, with as few obstacles as possible can not only improve staff survey results, but also the patient experience. Changing culture in public services and improving staff experience within the context of austerity can be a challenge, but by demonstrating commitment from the very top of the organisation, Chris will share how staff engagement has led to considerable change.
