SORT BY Relevancy
No matter where you fall on the spectrum, all of us need to strongly consider and dialogue about how we will do ministry in a world that will no longer define marriage and sexuality by traditional terms.
The overall objective of this conversation is NOT to force a change in people's opinions or theologies; the main purpose is to begin the much-needed dialogue on the realities of doing ministry with the LGBT community in mind. Whether you affirm or deny homosexuality theologically, we can all agree all people are worthy of experiencing God's love; and we must admit that the church has traditionally been a very hostile and hypocritical place for LGBT individuals. How do we do ministry today in a way that upholds our biblical convictions (as diverse as they may be), and still demonstrate love to a community (as diverse as it may be)?
Special Guest: Pastor Dwight Radcliff
Pastor Radcliff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies (with highest honors) from the Long Beach Bible College, and a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary (with an emphasis in Multi-Cultural Ministry/African-American Church Studies). He is currently pursuing his PhD.

Pastor Curt Thomas is a graduate of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he received a Bachelor of Science in Education. He incorporates the knowledge and skills garnered from his studies in his approach to educating, counseling, andempowering his church members and community members at large. Pastor Thomas serves as the Senior Pastor of The Renewed Church of Los Angeles.

Paying Tribute to Dr. Edgar Mitchell - Rebroadcast. On January 31, 1971, Navy Captain Dr. Edgar Mitchell embarked on a journey into outer space that resulted in becoming the sixth man to walk on the moon. This historic journey ended safely nine days later. It was an audacious time in the history of mankind. For Dr. Mitchell, however, the most extraordinary journey was yet to come. Traveling back to Earth, having just walked on the moon, Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell had an experience for which nothing in his life had prepared him. As he approached the planet we know as home, he was filled with an inner conviction as certain as any mathematical equation he'd ever solved. He knew that the beautiful blue world to which he was returning is part of a living system, harmonious and whole—and that we all participate, as he expressed it later, "in a universe of consciousness." Within two years of his expedition, Dr. Mitchell founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences in 1973.

With Super Bowl 5o this week, I wanted to dedicate the show to talking as much Football as possible. I will have a few "experts" on the show to break down the big game and add their analysis of Super Sunday.
While we usually have a spotlight on local bands I have decided to spotlight a local football legend. Frank Geffre the architect behind the South Beach Panthers, one of the best sandlot football teams from our era. Frank was the catalysts behind the start upof this team and not only the backbone on the field but the general off f it. I will have Frank on to discuss this era of sandlot football and why it will never be duplicated.
I will also ask the entire staff to call in and their picks for the game and maybe we will pick some of those promo bets that are so famous now.
We will also start our celebration of February by doing "Black Sabbath History Month". Starting this Thursday and each Thursday in this month we will do a bit of black sabbath History in honor of the Retiring band.
We have have our next segment of "What does Jeff think?" where we ask Jeff Tolwinski to respond to a question from one of our listeners.
Lots of Stuff to do and talk about and we only have 180 monutes to do it.
See you thursday at 6:30 pm est on blogtalkradio.com
