    Manifest a More Meaningful Life

    in Lifestyle

Make your life more meaningful with creativity guru and bestselling author, Marney Makridakis. In her new book, Hop, Skip, Jump: 75 Ways to Playfully Manifest a Meaningful Life (New World Library, November 15, 2014), Marney promises that you’ll manifest your desires faster, and with more ease and joy, if you approach them from the perspective of play.

In the next hour, Marney explains that manifesting ultimately comes down to momentum, and play connects us to the power of momentum, without us even realizing it.  “I believe in a world where work feels like play, and while it’s not always as easy as I’d like, I try to spend as much time there as possible,” writes Marney. “My goal is to help you identify, activate, and use the powerful intersections between play and productivity in order to manifest whatever you desire.”

Today Marney presents a blueprint for melding work and play into a single approach and shows how doing so can transform every aspect of our lives — from work to health to family to money, and beyond.

In addition to founding the online community ArtellaLand.com, Marney wrote the #1 Amazon bestseller Creating Time: Using Creativity to Reinvent the Clock and Reclaim Your Life.

    Homestead Technologies Sitebuilder LPX Desktop

    in Prepping

Homestead Technologies started by Justin Kitch is one of America's biggest success stories. Kitch started Homestead Technologies in a spare room while living with 5 roomates at college. Homestead technologies sold to Intuit for $176 million dollars. Intuit kept Kitch on as an adviser but in 2012 sold Homestead Technologies to EIG Endurance International Group. EIG is a giant among cheap hosting companies with 35+ companies owned by EIG worldwide.

When EIG bought out Bluehost and Hostgator they moved them to SERVER FARMS. The move took nearly 4 days and created numerous technical problems. EIG moved Homestead Technologies to a Server Farm on November 19th 2014 and has shut their 70k users out of their Sitebuilder LPX/Desktop. Service interruptions were mounting as an alternative to Sitebuilder LPX/Desktop was offered with much slower speeds namely homestead Techologies Sitebuilder Plus.

Personaly I don't blame EIG for trying to update a 15 year old product that has been neglected for years. Simply put you can't expect to design todays websites with your grandparents sitebuilders. At some point needless and outdated products need to be discarded and new and improved service needs to be added.

From a Flashprepper point of view this is a disaster. It's an online disaster but a disaster none the less. The disaster which is now an online super storm of sorts started 15 years ago with neglect. No money was ever put into Sitebuilder LPX/Desktop. Now 15 years later it as a breaking point. Hosted on old outdated unstable servers EIG made a bold move to update service to Homestead customers.

EIG was quick to call this anything but a disaster and in fact are calling it a MIGRATION. It is a migration to faster speeds, more security, and a better product. Many Homestead members call this migration  the worse upgrade EIG could have made and with really bad timing Cyber Monday 2014.

    Mable John-First Lady of Motown-Exclusive Interview - Mon, Dec 15, 2014 630 pm

    in Music

Mable John (born November 3, 1930) is an American blues vocalist and was the first female signed by Berry Gordy to Motown's Tamla label. John was born in Bastrop, Louisiana. At a very young age, she and her parents moved to north across the state-line into Arkansas where her father got a job in a paper mill near the community of Cullendale. There four brothers (including R&B singer Little Willie John) and two sisters were born. In 1941, after her father was able to secure a better job, the family moved to Detroit, where two additional brothers were born. The family lived in a new housing development at Six Mile and Dequindre Road. She attended Cleveland Intermediate School, and then Pershing High School, which is at Seven Mile and Ryan Road. After graduating from Pershing High School, she took a job as an insurance representative at Friendship Mutual Insurance Agency, a company run by Berry Gordy's mother, Bertha. Later, she left the company and spent two years at Lewis Business College. She subsequently ran into Mrs. Gordy again, who told Mabel that her son Berry was writing songs and was looking for people to record them. Gordy began coaching her and would accompany John on piano at local engagements. This continued until 1959, when John performed at the Flame Show bar on John R Street at the last show that Billie Holiday did in Detroit, just weeks before Holiday's death.
The same year, John began recording for Gordy. First she was signed to United Artists, but nothing was released there. Eventually, she became one of the first artists signed to Tamla, Gordy's own label. In 1960, she released her first Tamla single, "Who Wouldn't Love a Man Like That?," a romantic blues number, to no success. John followed with "No Love" in June of that year and then with "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" by year's end.

    Candelo's Corner: Special 11-10-14 Rebroadcast

    in Spirituality

Appropriation, Racism and Misnomers, OH MY!
-- Racism in the ATR/DTRs: The 800 lb. Gorilla in the Room!

We're presenting our most popular show in archive again for your edification and reflective thought. Please tune in and listen to Candelo Kimbisa, Ancestor Healing and Malik Kimbiza and hear them get to the root of the problem and ask the essential questions facing us all in these changing, charged times!

Has the recent explosive growth and interest in the ATRs/DTRs flooded religions like Palo, Vodou, Santeria, etc. with people who have hidden agendas and/or deep-seated biases? Does subconscious hatred and/or racism toward children of the Diaspora, while worshiping and petitioning the very same ancestors and Spirits that gave birth to these descendants play a part in the corruption of ATR/DTR religions? What roles do greed and lust for power play in the acceptance of new initiates or prospective godchildren?

Grab a seat ladies and gentlemen because that rebroadcast from November 10th was a roller-coaster, and needs to be heard again! Join the Bad Boys of Palo every Monday on Candelo's Corner at 5pm PT, 8pm ET, online, call in and listen by phone 646-478-5072, or 'Click-to-Talk' via a computer interface. Lenny Williams Live

    in Music

As with many of secular music's greatest singers they often have a deeply religious background. Usually it's the disco divas that are born in the church musically, every now and then a male artist
will emerge from the church to have a profound impact on secular music, Leonard Charles Williams is one of those.
Born in Little Rock Arkansas on February 6th, 1945 he escaped the racially charged south at the age of one to be brought up in the diverse Oakland, California area. Lenny's uncle was Bishop
Charles Harrison Mason, founder of the Church of God in Christ (America's leading black Pentecostal church), so naturally church was an important part of his life from the beginning. In fact Williams
studied to become a minister while also singing in the church choir.
Upon graduation from high school Lenny took on a series of odd jobs while at the same time discovering the wonderful world of secular music, particularly the emerging Motown sound. Between
1963 and 1968 he worked his odd jobs and honed his singing talent by entering a series of local talent contests, often winning them. In 1968 local Berkley record company Fantasy Records offered him
a contract. Fantasy was on the cusp of success with Creedence Clearwater Revival and Lenny's singles, "Lisa's Gone" and "Feelin' Blue," did not have the benefit of proper promotion and only
    achieved marginal regional success.
