Before developing speech, we communicated with our bodies. We still subconsciously use those instinctive responses to express our feelings. So if you can interpret a person's signals, it's like having a backstage pass to their psyche. Listen to learn how to respond with some undercover communication of your own.
Communication can be either verbal or nonverbal. Nonverbal communication is more immediate, but more ambiguous than verbal communication. Men and women differ significantly in their propensity to use nonverbal communication, their skill in interpreting it and their means of signaling their meaning. Accordingly, understanding gender differences in nonverbal communication is important when dealing with the opposite sex.

THEME: Moving Beyond Psychological and Verbal Abuse
INTERVIEW GUEST: Debbie Zoub, MSW
Debbie Zoub, MSW, is a clinical social worker and a survivor of abuse. She has spent much of her twenty five year career working with all types of abuse, both as a therapist and caseworker. Her professional and personal understanding of living a life of abuse forms the basis of her Professional Counseling Practice, Healing Heart. Healing Hearts provides abuse counseling and support to both female and male clients.
THIS WEEK’S MESSAGE:
Getting out of the abusive situation is the first step toward healing and moving on in your life, but unfortunately your work doesn’t end there. Once you are physically safe and secure, it is a good idea that you seek professional help for any abuse-related difficulties you may develop. For example, you may have difficulty coping with abuse memories themselves. You may also benefit from assistance in coping with problems that develop because you were abused, such as substance abuse problems, sexual or intimacy issues, anger issues, eating disorders, etc. Each person experiences abuse differently, and is able to cope with abuse in different ways depending on their circumstances. Is it possible to move beyond psychological and verbal abuse?
Today on RTR, we'll be talking about abuse both inside and outside the body of Christ. There are many types of abuses that occur, but we're going to focus on three types today. Spiritual, physical and verbal abuse. Join us this and every Sunday at 10am est. Call 661.449.9951 to listen live.
