The Magic Lightning Boys (rock, blues, funk)
If nothing else, you have to give props to the The Magic Lightnin' Boys for one thing; they have been able to make a nod to the past sound fresh and modern. Their combination of hard rock and blues should sound similar to other bands who have tried (and failed) to make this sound appealing to a generation who has heard it all, but it doesn't. Not only does it retain a keen sense of identity at all times, it also serves as the perfect springboard for the new foursome out of Ohio.

Spellbound is a musical project founded by award-winning songwriters and producers Paul “Pablo” Thomas (guitars and keyboards) and Bobby Moon (vocals and percussion) from Los Angeles, CA. The duo have been performing and producing an ever expanding catalog of critically-acclaimed albums over the past two decades. Spellbound's original blend of soulful compositions & Spanglish lyrics create a danceable fusion of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, funk, rock, & beyond. The band has performed and recorded with a remarkable cast of artists and musicians throughout their career, including Ozomatli, Eddie Palmieri, ? and the Mysterians, Johnny Polanco, Plas Johnson, Roger Manning, Jr., and many more.
Beginning with Spellbound in 1996 (which contains the Latin-tinged crowd favorite “Good Company”), the band has released a succession of nationally distributed CDs on their own Selfish Recordings label. They include 1999’s Funqueros (dubbed a “jewel of magnanimous proportions” by Campus Circle vol.9 #14), which helped create a buzz about the band, resulting in a number of Southern California performances, notably an opening slot at the Hollywood Bowl in July 2002. By 2007 Spellbound, along with the release of their CD Poolside Fiesta, presented their first-ever video, “Hot Sauce” (which can now be enjoyed on YouTube).

What do you want to be, when you grow up? And that's a tough question, you see because you expect someone to start taking themselves serious when they get 18, 21, or thereabout, but some people have an inkling of what they want to do even younger. So in essence, they are "grown up" when they are 10, or 15, maybe 13 or even 9. Must be the case with Eric McAlister. He is STANKFUNK. Funk is stank, but when you STANK IT in the front of FUNK, you know something good is about to go down. Ya HEARD??????
Jonathan began playing on a marching snare drum at the tender age of six. By the age of eight, he began playing school dances, talent shows, and house parties locally. At age ten, Jonathan began playing in nightclubs with his two older brother’s band. “They’d sneak me in through the back door and I’d play the gig till 1:00 or 2:00 am. My parents said as long as I didn’t go by the bar, and my brothers watched me, it would be ok! I’d get paid too!! It was great”!! After about 3 years with his brother’s band, he joined another local group and showcased his gifts. In the years that followed, from age 12 to 23, he performed locally with several prominent bands throughout the region and built up his reputation, which led to his stage name, “Sugarfoot”. Then in January 1979, Jonathan drove out and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his goals and aspirations. After arriving in Los Angeles in January 1979, he was in contact with Jermaine Jackson and his brothers, and the groups, Undisputed Truth and New Birth. Formal requests from these artists were considered but Jonathan decided to join, The Jacksons. After just five weeks in Los Angeles, Jonathan embarked upon his first major tour with the Jackson Family in the spring of 1979.
Jonathan was a success, and two more U.S. Tours with the Jackson’s followed in the winter of 1979 and the other in the Spring/Summer of 1981. His career was off to an incredible start, 1982 was packed with two additional tours, one in the spring with Patti Austin and in the fall with the R&B funk group Cameo. The Jackson relationship again resumed for the massive 1984 Jacksons’ Victory Tour, which occupied the greater part of that year.

Con Funk Shun is a star-quality attraction delivering a superb, high-energy show with electrifying choreography, glistening six-part vocal harmonies, and a dash of humor. They are, unquestionably, among the heroes of Funk with romantic ballads and dance-party hits galore. Memorable melodies, inventive horn arrangements and clav-guitar woven grooves, make the group absolutely essential to the evolution of funk. They charted four consecutive Gold's and one Platinum album. Between 1977 and 1986, they charted 20 hit singles including 8 Top Ten R&B Hits and one #1.
TOPIC; The social programming of society is evident and continues to unfold its ugly face, even today as we morn over the Charleston Massacre, and the senseless killing inside a place of prayer and worship, the hatred has spilled out in violation of God and faith,To the point were whites are now openly declaring themselves black, tanning there skin, weaving there hair, and obtaining positions of authority in places of african american influence,,,its nothing knew to be honest, its just more blantant, and obvious, but still we march, prey, and express our anger, but continue to follow tradition,,,,'NOTHING"...WELCOME
