Upgrade Your Life - and Your Weight Loss with Your Everyday Superpowers!

    in Self Help

Many of us grew up in a system where criticism and shame were used to try to motivate change. We experiences it in school, at home, and certainly in the media.  And we often use it on ourselves, often without even being aware. Every time you have a thought such as “I’m too [fat, thin, old, young]” or “I’m not [smart, pretty, sexy, trendy] enough” - you’re pointing criticism inwards.

But there’s a problem. Using shame and criticism don’t motivate change. In fact, the latest brain research makes it clear that shame and criticism will actually shut down the very systems you’ll need if you want to engage truly powerful growth of any kind - including weight loss.

So what’s the answer? Join me as I interview Janette Dalgliesh, the Sweet Relief Coach (www.sweetreliefcoaching.com), for a whirlwind exploration of just what’s going on in your noggin as she busts out a few myths about self-love.   She has opened the door to a radically upgraded life for many people and her best-selling book  “Everyday Superpower”  knocks it out of the park!

Karen Donaldson is an EFT Certified Weight Loss Coach specializing helping women grow to love and accept themselves so that they can permanently release excess weight.  Find her at excelweightloss.com

    in Fitness

Take time to live, our world/life have so much to give!

Wouldn't you agree that most of us want an active brain for life.  The body and brain DON'T AGE, WE DO!

Current perception, you either gel Alzheimer's or you don't, but there's actually more of a sliding scale of brain health as we age and a lot depends on genetics, lifestyle and choices.

Fact, if everyone in the U.S. adopted just one positive habit, like getting regular exercise or learning to manage stress, within five (5) years we could expect one million fewer Alzheimer's cases, this according to the Alzheimer's Prevention Program.

Exercise and memory, when you get your heart to pump more blood, it sends more ox;ygen and nutrients to the brain.

    STAY TUNED...

    Physical/cognitive health...etc.

    Weight Lifting...etc.

ThinkFirst: Preventing Knocks to the Noggin & Spine

    in Sports

A high school footballplayer may receive 650 sub-concussive hits in a season, more than 2,500 in a four-year stint on the team.

Football collisions can generate more than 100 g- force (imagine a car hitting a concrete wall at 25 miles per hour). The greater the weight and speed, of the athlete, the higher the g-forces.

Statistic:70% of concussions in soccer are from player-to-player contact.

Researchers estimate that 90% of injuries are predictable and preventable. Helmets are effective for cyclists of all ages and for all types of crashes. When worn properly, helmets reduce risks for brain injury by 88%.
ThinkFirstis a national non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of brain and spinal cord injuries. ThinkFirst teaches school-aged children and youth, sports teams, and community volunteers, to safely participate in the activities they enjoy.

    WHAT'S IN YOUR NOGGIN?

Get your brain straight with straight talk from Susie about everything from 'Is the United States communist yet?' to 'What ever happened to that Egyptian guy Zahi Hawass?'
You can call in at 951-729-8933 with a question and if you stump Susie, you win a million dollars. Or is that a million donuts? Being a former cop, she gets the value of those two 'D' words mixed up sometimes.
And what's with all this with acronyms already? If negro is the 'N' word and 'F' is the, a, bad word, then why isn't idiot the 'E' word? And hyphens. There's another 'E' word for 'ya. And add 'anti' anything to that list of the 'new' pseudo words. And what about 'queer'.' 'fagot' and 'gay.' Anyone remember the true meaning of those words?
All this straight talk will be done with a tongue-in-cheek approach such as, 'Could this stuff be real?' Tune in and find out. Sunday, September 15 at 7pm EST.
