Welcome to the SC&H Group podcast series. SC&H Group recently received top honors from two national accounting trade magazines – reinforcing the value of the firm’s continual commitment to delivering powerful minds, passionate teams, and proven results.
The firm was named one of the “2014 Best Places to Work For” by Accounting Today. In addition, INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA) ranked the firm as one of “2014 Best of the Best.”
Today, we have the honor of speaking with Ron Causey, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of SC&H Group about these awards.
Julia Pierson resigned as Secret Service director on Wednesday after just a year and a half on the job, following a series of major security lapses that eroded President Obama’s confidence in her ability to run the agency tasked with protecting him.
The breach last month, in which Army veteran Omar J. Gonzalez leapt over the White House fence and managed to sprint through much of the mansion’s main floor, helped clinch Pierson’s downfall. He had in fact overpowered a Secret Service officer and made it into the East Room before being tackled by an off-duty agent near the Green Room.WP
"Agents tell me it’s a miracle an assassination has not already occurred. In typical Washington fashion, nothing gets reformed until a disaster happens. If anything unites Republicans and Democrats, it is that nobody wants to see a tragedy: We all just want the Secret Service fixed". Ronald Kessler in Politico
Hey, we are back after a two week hiatus. We got to go over some updates, but we definitely have to hit up this ebola that flew into our country undetected. Undetected? Things that make you go hmmm! They use to say 1 in 3 will get cancer in our lifetime, today they say it’s 1 in 2. I find too many of us are complacent about those odds, believing not much can be done to change what we collectively believe is an inevitable fact of American life. Cancer, we're told, is random, it's genetic, and sooner or later, it's going to get us. But the truth is, a cancer diagnosis doesn't have to be a 50/50 proposition. In fact, what if you could “up the odds” to nearly 100% - a 100% chance you WON'T end up with cancer?
My guest tonight is Dr. Michael Gonzalez. Dr. Michael is a Professor at the Nutrition Program, School of Public Health Medical Sciences Campus, at the University of Puerto Rico.
