Pressing towards the prize of the upward call

    in Religion

Pastor Brad Morgan of New Life Beginnings Church in Pattison, TX continues to speak divine suddenlies. God has set times to do certain things. God's suddenlies are always dramatic. The start of the Church in Acts 2 started with a suddenly. Most often God's suddenlies come to the faithful. We have to generate a line of thinking that will put us in line with what God is doing. God's suddenlies will cause you to use what you have fleshed out. Phillipians 3:12-14 says, "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Walking with God you have to keep moving forward with God.

God wants to narrow the gap between prophesy spoken and prophesy fulfilled. A suddenly will cause a fullfilment of that thing God has promissed for you. God has a portion especially for you to walk in. Open you heart for what God has for your life. Press towards the prize of the upward call.

    Inspiration of the Day

“Live today the way you want to be remembered tomorrow.”

    - Dillon Burroughs

    So Now What?

There’s an old saying: “If you want to know how to live your life, think about what you’d like people to say about you after you die and live backwards.”

Let me give you an example.

Alfred Nobel invented dynamite in 1867. He did so because he thought his invention would actually end warfare. He wrote that, “The day when two army corps can annihilate each other in one second, all civilized nations, it is to be hoped, will recoil from war and discharge their troops.”

His ideas were not unlike the massive military build up during the Cold War between The Soviet Union and the United States from the 1960’s to 1980’s – preemptive deterrence.

However, life has a way of throwing curve balls, and in 1888, when Alfred’s brother Ludvig died, a French newspaper mistakenly ran an obituary for Alfred, in which they called him “the merchant of death.”

Alfred was so horrified by that label that he decided to change his destiny. After he died, he left 94% of his wealth to form a foundation. This foundation established 5 honors with annual awards presented to people who have produced the greatest benefit for humanity...
