This episode will engage a recent article in "Christianity Today" pertaining to the pastor as a scholar. Should the pastor be a scholar? Is it necessary? Is it possible? We will discuss this on today's show.
Whether you are a PARENT or not do you believe in SPANKING children? Spanking seems to have fallen out of favor as an appropriate form of punishment to DISCIPLINE CHILDREN. However, there are those who say it is necessary and believe less CORPORAL PUNISHMENT has lead to more behavorial problems in society amongst teens and even young adults. When does spanking cross the line into CHILD ABUSE? BLACK SOCRATES & CHRISTY GAYNELL explore these questions and many more... Also don't forget EVERY SATURDAY at the top of the 2nd hour (11:00-11:15am EST) we bring on a financial expert for the MONEY & POWER 15 to discuss economic empowerment in the community. MENTAL DIALOGUE is the return of intelligent radio where "ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK"
For many pet parents, grooming comes with the territory. But what parts of grooming are necessary? Getting nails clipped? Fur styled and cut? Professional bathing? Are there only certain types of animals that require grooming, such as purebreeds or those with long coats? How often should grooming occur, and just how expensive can it become? In this episode of The Missy Show, we answer these questions, so you can be better informed on just which services are necessary vs those that can be done at home. Join hosts J and D, Saturday, September 26th at 5pm Central.
How real is God to you? Is He just a concept that you have grown up with for years? Do you only consider His existence on special occasions or when things get rough?
What if we told you that trials equal a greater level of intimacy with God? If you want to get to know God, if you want to grow closer to Him you will go through something. To gain a relationship beyond blessing our meals or praying for traveling mercies, in order to get the point that we trust Him fully the relationship must be tested.
Trials may be difficult, but they are necessary, and more importantly they reveal precious truths about God. Listen to this episode to learn more.
This episode of A Sound Heart will explore the self- sacrificial love that Jesus has commanded of his followers. We have created many types of theologies and psychologies based upon someone's seemingly redemptive insight. However, we are never enjoined to create new theologies we are commanded to love one another. This is where western theology is frail and on life support devices. We do not follow the command of Jesus to embrace his ethos of love. The old theologies of creative myth need to die. We need to return to the Word of God and practice the love of Jesus in our lives.
When everything starts changing you may need to change everything. How do you navigate your way through the changes you've ask for?
Have you ever found yourself in the middle of chaos only to realize that perhaps the very chaos is evidence that change is arriving at your doorstep... the change you've been asking for?
Why is it that we so often look at our current experiences and say, "I wanted change but not that!"
Is it possible that even what appear to be disruptions can reveal valuable information about ourselves? Highly likely!
Today Delrae J Bantz, of The Life Learning Center of Self, will talk about walking through changes even when they look like the exact opposite of what we need most.
Unfortunately, we live in a world where favors are more important than morals. TUNE IN!

Part 5 of our multi-part series examining the view with which James Madison, considered the father of the Constitution, regarded the State amending convention provision in Article V.
Various interpretations of Madison's views have been presented over many years, in support of multiple positions in regard to the utility, and even the safety, of the Article V provision to the States to hold a "convention for proposing amendments". We are going to walk through this man's life, through his written record, to construct his position, and the continued consistency of his position, and provide the most accurate representation we can of his thoughts. We're going to take as many episodes as necessary to thoroughly flesh out his view.
Today, we discuss the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, instituted by Founding Father, and Second President, John Adams, which led Madison to write the Virginia Resolution (and Jefferson the Kentucky Resolution). What is the historical context for these acts, and what is the final outcome of the two State resolutions.
As always, we'll present the latest news in the Convention of the States. And, we'll allow time for your phone calls.
Let's talk about Learned Behaviors. These are behaviors that you learned that were meant to serve as a temporary safety net but you lost sight of that. So now we need to talk about how easily you can deflect yourself from finding out the learned behaviors that are now keeping you from standing in your responsibilities and the accountabilities of making the changes to your thoughts and feelings and learning how to use your emotions as the very tool that will change your life.
When you repeat a learned behaviour often enough it becomes your normal response and you forget that you just needed time with the particular example at a particular moment in time.
You needed time because you were already learning behaviors that kept you safe from those adults that lost control with you because of their own learned behaviours.
It's time to stop the cycle and recognize that the learned behavior is no longer serving you. In fact, it's limiting your choices today and keeping you from the truth.

The day of the ball has come. Ashley's step-mother is frantic about being on time, but Ashley doesn't have a dress. She wishes she could go to the ball, but how? After letting a caller inside, she finds out more than she should. Oh, and more of Lord Edric's point of view. Man, I did a good job, huh?
No one likes the "before Prince" Cinderella. It's depressing. Always having to clean after her step-brothers; obeying their and her step-mother's every order, and taking beatings when it never deemed necessary. At least her step-niece gave her kindness. This Cinderella didn't know if she could take it anymore. She had to get out of there. What if something happened, though? What if she woke up, finding it all a dream?

This week we will learn about the foundation necessary to undergo the process of change and the power God gives us to reflect His character.
All people who accept God's offer of salvation exchange their pride for humility, their hatred for love, their selfishness for generosity, their temper for sweetness, their anxity for peace. This is what is called the process of exchange, Many have begun this process, but have found themselves stalled somewhere along the way.
Today we will learn how with God's help, we can develop a character like His.
