Between the fall out of Joe Paterno’s firing and the hiring of Penn State’s Bill O’Brien, Tom Bradley served as the Nittany Lions interim head coach. Bradley guided the PSU through three regular season games and a trip to the Ticket City Bowl in Houston, Texas. Bradley served under the most intense pressure and scrutiny that any coach may ever face due to the circumstance at Penn State last season.
Currently one of the most beloved coaches from Penn State Bradley is working with Clear Channel and the Steelers Radio Network. Today he stops by the College2Pro.com Show to talk Top 25 Football the key match ups this weekend in college football.
Penn State hoops finally won a conference game this week! The Nittany Lions went 1-1 during its most recent stretch of games, as they lost in controversial fashion to Michigan State before taking down Rutgers at home. Actually, that's a bit weak. Penn State tied Rutgers to a tree and beat it over and over with a 9 Iron. Yeah, that's better.
On this episode of the BSD Basketbro Show, Bill, Chad and Tim discuss the week in PSU hoops. The guys hit on everything from the games to Brandon Taylor's injury to whether or not Penn State is held to a lower standard by Big Ten refs. You should listen. It's a good time.
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH. Penn State basketball went out and Penn State basketball'd all over the place over the last two weeks. The Nittany Lions fell to Michigan, Indiana and Purdue by a combined 19 points and generally found ways to clench defeat from the jaws of victory. We're gonna try to cheer you up with the latest episode of the BSD Basketbro Show, in which Bill DiFilippo and Chad Markulics are joined by Onward State's Noel Purcell. The guys talk about the losses, preview the next week and try to figure out what the hell is wrong with Pat Chambers' squad. There may be some Flavor Flav talk in there too. Ugh. This is sad.
We are now less than a week from the big game on Saturday - the 2014 New Era Pinstripe Bowl between Boston College and Penn State.
Dan and AJ return to break this one down on the field and look at the matchups between both schools. It'll be a fun chess match on the sidelines between James Franklin and Steve Addazio, but what happens between the stripes? What can we expect?
When discussing Penn State, we'll be talking about the controversy swirling around their program this season. When the season began, the Nittany Lions weren't even supposed to be in a bowl game, still serving the ban imposed by the NCAA. Since then, though, the revelations about potential wrongdoing by the governing body in the wake of the horribly tragic scandal in Happy Valley became public, and the bowl ban was lifted. What kind of impact could that have on Saturday, and what are your thoughts on the matter?
We'll be talking with guests about their thoughts for the bowl game and what to expect out of both the Eagles and Nittany Lions. We'll be taking your calls at 646-200-0446.
It was a long December, but there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last . . . because Penn State is going bowling this year! For the first time in three years, the Nittany Lions are postseason bound. Adam, Cari, Bill and Stephon are here to give you everything you need to know about this Saturday's Pinstripe Bowl against Boston College
No REAL football coming up this week (RIGHT! . . . we’re NOT counting the Pro Bowl), but there IS lots of football chat . . . and much of it is controversial football chat in both the collegiate and professional ranks.
Controversy #1 – The NCAA has seen fit to restore the most egregious of their sanctions against Penn State University in 2012 – the loss of 111 Joe Paterno victories for the Nittany Lions, and we’ve got Mike Gross from the Lancaster Intelligencer joining us to discuss the community’s reaction and the credibility of the NCAA. Now if that doesn’t get you voicing an opinion . . .
Controversy #2 – Are you telling me the New England Patriots are involved in cheating scandal AGAIN??? Chris Simoneau of PatriotsInsider.com joins us again this week as he’s sitting right smack in the center of this “low pressure” storm and can bring us a birds-eye view of the debris. Plus, he’ll be breaking down the Super Bowl XLIX match-up with the Seattle Seahawks, and helps us handicap what even the handicappers can’t seem to agree on.
We've got another lighthearted edition of "4 Minutes of Football" (for something positive); NFL players proving to everyone the Pro Bowl’s a joke . . . AND, a coach suspended for winning??? Not usually, but in this case it was by 159 points!
You just got to listen because you never know what’s coming next . . . and, to make it even better, jump in with the guys by giving your opinion at 347 – 826 – 9964!
It has been a busy, BUSY week here on the Frat House Sports Radio Network and the topics, guests and quality of comment brought to our relaxed Frat House Saturday clips will prove it!
Monday evening, Frat House Mike and Brandon welcomed the “drive-time voice” of CBS Sports 1430-Indianapolis’s Kent Sterling to chat about the AFC Championship and the future of the Indianapolis Colts. For the first time we hear the word “Deflate-Gate”.
Thursday evening, the Frat House Gang got chatting with Mike Gross a columnist for Lancaster Newspapers about the recent reversal of NCAA sanctions against Penn State University and the Nittany Lions football program.
Later on The Frat House Sports Show, Chris Simoneau of PatriotsInsider.com joined the crew again this week. The top story? Well, for sure . . . Deflate-Gate!
Give it a listen and be sure to give Frat House Mike a call at 347 – 826 – 9964 . . . because, he’s all by himself, and needs someone to talk to!
The BSD Basketbro Show is back this week, and the guys are ready to discuss the 2014 Charleston Classic. After losing their opening game to Charlotte, the Nittany Lions won thrillers over Cornell and USC. Is a 2-1 record in the Tournament acceptable? What did we learn -- other than D.J. Newbill is amazing at basketball? Was the fact that PSU won two really close games a cause for celebration or a cause for concern? Bill DiFilippo, Eric Gibson and Chad Markulics will discuss on this week's episode of the best damn Penn State basketball podcast on the Internet.
It's the second episode of the finest Penn State basketball podcast on the Internet. In this episode, Tim Aydin, Bill DiFilippo and Chad Markulics discuss the team's 2-0 start. The Nittany Lions have taken down Morgan State and Fordham in convincing fashion, and it has the guys wondering: how good is Pat Chambers' squad this year? Was this just a string of nice performances against subpar teams, or is this a sign of things to come? Tim, Bill and Chad also discuss the team's stellar backcourt, and preview the upcoming Charleston Classic. Get fired up, everyone, because this team may be a lot of fun.
After a week off to give everyone a little bit of a breather, the #BlackShoePodcast returns to Blog Talk Radio for a monster podcast. The Michigan loss was brutal, the bye week came and went, and the Nittany Lions are preparing to take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State in front of a SOLD OUT Beaver Stadium in prime time on Saturday on ABC! Adam, Cari and Bill have plenty of say about the last several weeks and the remainder of the regular season. Can James Franklin get his squad on track? Can the defense contain a hot Ohio State offense? Can Christian Hackenberg get time to throw? Can the Nittany Lions pull off the upset? All that and more this week on the #BSP!
