It worked well in the industrial economy because people were not well educated, tasks were often simple and routine, and some workers didn't even speak English. But in this day and age of online businesses, virtual worlds and virtual teams, the leadership model needs to change.
Today tasks are complex projects which are often customized frequently. This requires nimble decision making and action to adapt to frequent change in economic and technological conditions. This requires a different leadership model.

The Jazz Times said that Clark not only conjures up memories of the Divine Sarah Vaughan; she does them justice. I never thought I'd hear a singer with the range, musicality and command of tone and timbre that was Sarah at her best, but now I have." The Washington Post calls her powerful yet supple . . . soulful, swinging . . . wonderfully nimble . . . dreamy." Washingtonian Magazine has labeled her a Jazz Master. Selling out Carnage Hall just a few nights ago, Lake Street Dive heads to Colbert Nation for an encore and was featured on The Ellen Show Today!
FAN: I was in the audience tonight at the Colbert Report and during the Q & A asked: "What's on your Ipad/What are you listening to these days?" His reply? "Lake Street Dive" - Just wanted to let you know!
Celebs like Katie Curic, Kevin Bacon and Francis Mcdormand recently tweeted out her love for this jazz band.
Lake Street Dive makes the most of pop music virtues: solid, evocative song craft; propulsive grooves; and Price’s disarming, forthright vocals. However, it’s a personal strain of pop that is refracted through the band members’ rich backgrounds: a sinewy Motown bass line is reborn with woody heft on Kearney’s upright, Calabrese’s drumming mixes timekeeping with more adventurous jazz-inflected outbursts, McDuck’s nimble trumpet is an unexpectedly warm counterpoint to Price’s singing. It all makes for a sound with familiar roots, but with a slant that is entirely their own. Lake Street Dive’s eventual artistic breakthrough came not without struggle, and still surprises original instigator Mike “McDuck”
