    in Sports

The Summer of 1984 was an eventful 3 months for new Commissioner David Stern and the NBA; on the heels of an epic 7-game Finals slugfest between Larry Bird’s World Champion Boston Celtics and Magic Johnson’s Los Angeles Lakers, the first of 3 heavyweight bouts in the Decade, the NBA Draft was held in New York City; the Draft would introduce fans to 4 future Hall of Famers who would each write their own chapter in the NBA’s History Books. There was Forward Charles Barkley of Auburn, the rowdy, raucous “Round Mound of Rebound”, his polar opposite, little-known Guard John Stockton of Gonzaga, the majestic Nigerian Center and Number One pick  Akeem “The Dream” Olajuwon from the University of Houston, and the electric (Cue Chicago Bulls Public Address Announcer …”6 foot 6 Guard from North KAR-O-LINA!”)…Michael Jeffrey Jordan. These next-level players would secure the NBA’s rapidly growing stature as the Sport of the Future, with Bird and Magic now at the peak of their powers.  Jordan, Georgetown Center Patrick Ewing and 10 of College Basketball’s best would represent USA Basketball in the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, led by iconic and infamous Coach Bobby Knight of Indiana University. Knight, known lovingly as a “Raving Maniac” by his players brought his no-nonsense, drill-sergeant mentality to the USA program and molded yet another Gold Medal Winner. The agony and ecstacy of the Draft process, with its Franchise-changing consequences were never more evident than the summer of ’84.

Americas Most Unwanted and The People Who Find Them

    in Legal

This week I want to explore the scams in the buisiness. They take several forms and each is bad. Some target the insurance company, some target the bail bond company, and some target the defendant. All are bad, and all need to be stopped. Scammers have come a long way from the Nigerian Prince offering you $millions of dollars, Today they use far more sophisticated methods, Spearphishing is the term. They know the target and in the case of a defendant they know the weak spot.

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1208

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is David Shurter from Seattle, Washington, was born in Omaha, Nebraska, into a family who were practicing inter-generational Satanism. He went through horrific abuse as a child, as did his older siblings. "I was forced to find my faith," he says, "and that's what has gotten me through to were I am today. Now I'm dedicated to bringing an end to this systematic abuse of children by doing my best to stand against it." He's author of the book "Rabbit Hole." From the nationwide satanic panic in the 1980s to local political cover-ups, shocking kidnappings, unsolved child murders, and scandalous pedophile rings, this book takes you behind the deceptive headlines. Rich, well-connected members of Omaha's elite carried out unspeakable acts of abuse and even murder on innocent children. David Shurter was one of those sexually abused survivors forever scarred by the horrible rites performed on him by his own parents and other followers of Satan. It wasn't until he entered psychotherapy in midlife that long ignored childhood memories came to light, and when he discovered his gruesome nightmares were indeed real. "Rabbit Hole" is an expose of the surprising participants and unbelievable horrors involving murder, drugs, lavish parties, pedophiles, suspected government conspiracies, and the Omaha gay scene that cast a dark cloud of suspicion over an unsuspecting city. David's trying to help. "Children are easy to abduct," he points out, "and there is very little anyone is doing to monitor the numbers of the victims involved."
