Steve Hayden is one of the most important figures of the late twentieth century advertising, leading creative teams at both Chiat/Day and BBDO on the Apple Computer account, where he and Lee Clow made advertising history as co-creators of the breakthrough 1984 Orwellian take-off campaign for Apple Inc. He has won hundreds of awards for creative excellence and dozens more for effectiveness (including the Grand Effie for the launch of the Apple Powerbook.) After helping Apple reclaim the industry lead from IBM and Microsoft, in 1994, Hayden moved to Ogilvy to head the IBM account and change the puclib perception of a brand many considered extinct, eventually propelling Ogilvy to a decade of growth and prosperity. Steve has contributed to award-winning work for such diverse clients as American Express, Kodak, Motorola, Dove, Cisco and SAP.

To see this full show, please visit: http://flipnerd.com/entrepreneurial-excellence-brenton-hayden/ Many real estate investors and entrepreneurs in all industries start with the intention of building a business that can ultimately run without the need for them to be involved in the day to day operations. Unfortunately, through a combination of fear of giving up control, inability to find the right employees, or just plain poor execution, most folks end up creating a life-long job for themselves...with minimal ability to scale. Brenton Hayden, Chairman of Renters Warehouse, is a prime example of how to do it right. Fortunately, he's also sharing some lessons with us to help prevent the scenario above from happening to you. Don't miss this great episode of the FlipNerd.com VIP Flip Show, to learn how Brenton Haydon retired at age 29, and his company is growing faster than ever.

How often have you wished—whether your mother is still living, or she is not—that you could get some “just right” advice or communication from her to help you through your life? Tyler Hayden recognized that many, many of us yearn for connection with, and communication from, the people we care about, and started the “….Messages in a Bottle” series, beginning with “Mother’s Message in a Bottle.” 40 mothers whose stories fill this need have been selected and their stories included in his new book. Tyler will be talking with me about his idea, about the process of collecting the stories, and sharing some of the communication from the mothers selected for inclusion in this endeavor. Your heart will warm and fill as we talk.
