Interlaced in singer-songwriter Jesse Macht’s catchy melodies are an abundance of stories overflowing with passion, vulnerability, empathy and honesty. Much like legendary songwriters before him such as Tom Petty and Neil Young, and modern day influences like Dan Wilson and Jon Brion, Jesse has proven his aptitude for storytelling. His music has been placed in many television shows and networks, as well as commercials, including The Voice, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Giuliana and Bill, Nickelodeon, Cymbalta and the MTV/E! cable catalogue. He’s also had numerous original songs placed in independent films such as James Franco’s "Good Time Max."
Jesse has followed a path similar to his family of entertainers (his brother is actor Gabriel Macht, currently starring in USA’s "Suits," and father is veteran actor Stephen Macht). He has worked hard to make a musical home for himself (both as a solo artist and with his old band Burn Down the Mission) within L.A.’s well-known songwriter community with regular appearances at the Hotel Café, Room 5 and WitZend. Jesse Macht connects with his audience through reflective, conversational lyrics. While his words are dynamic and unapologetically truthful at times, he leaves room for his audience to contribute to the dialogue by using their own experiences. The new album, expected to come out in the fall of 2014, follows Jesse’s 2012 debut solo release Acts of Providence. With it, he hopes to continue to inspire his audience and encourage them to be vulnerable.

Specail Guest: NILE EVANS BIO
After attending Menlo College in Atherton California, Nile Evans decided to pursue his long time career goal of a Television writer/producer. He called on a valuable resource within his family, Executive Producer and Creator of the Jamie Foxx Show and "Martin", Bentley Kyle Evans took him under his wing as a Writers Apprentice on the hit Television Show, The Jamie Foxx Show. On the off seasons, Nile worked along with many film and television writing crews in Hollywood, like Jamie Foxx, Martin Lawrence, and rising Star Nick Cannon. Nile's relationship with Nick Cannon led him to help Nick to develop his first talk show pilot for Nickelodeon. The creative synergy was solidified as Nile worked with Nick as a Development Executive within Nick's Production Company, "Mr. Renaissance". Under that banner Nile was a Co-Creator and Executive Producer of MTV's hit television show "Wild'n Out", an improv-comedy show in which they produced 4 seasons and 50 episodes. After producing a Pilot for Reality Giant's 51 Minds, Nile used his relationships with them and talent Ray-J to bring them together to produce his own hit reality show "For the Love of Ray-J" for VH1. Nile has developed and produced pilots for many networks and most recently worked on the BET Awards show.
Our guest DJ Steve Porter weaves together the odd shaped raw material life offers us into fun & entertaining videos. A good example of his work is "You Play to Win The Game". We will learn more about Steve, what he does and how he does it. If you'd like to join the conversation please call (347) 850-8907.
A leading DJ for more than a decade, Porter has been a fixture at music festivals and nightclubs throughout the world. The worlds of advertising, entertainment, sports, and popular culture all took note, and hired him to create “video mash-ups” to reach their consumers.
To facilitate the creation of his in-demand remix videos, Steve founded his production company PorterHouse Media in 2009. In the past 4 years, PorterHouse Media has been hired to create videos and music for major companies such as ABC, NBC, CBS, TNT, Disney, Nickelodeon, VH1, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, General Mills, Hyundai, FedEx and IBM. As a result, he has been hailed as the “Digital Mix Master” by Sports Illustrated Magazine, he's been included in ‘Top 100 Most Creative People’ by Fast Company and has been nominated for an Emmy Award.

Mindless Behavior stir up a frenzy wherever they go. Mingling R&B grooves, pop hooks, and hip hop swag, the teen quartet—Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray, and Princeton—has quickly become a modern musical phenomenon with an army of screaming fans following them everywhere. On their debut album for Streamline/Conjunction/Interscope Records, #1 Girl [available September 20, 2011], the group fuels that hysteria with numerous worldwide anthems. There's another dimension to this experience. Each member boasts an eye-catching, 21st century fashion sensibility as well as impressive and incendiary dance moves. In the tradition of The Jackson Five, New Edition, and B2K, they're the new vanguard for pop.
This is Beyond the Airwaves: The Infinity Project, where we go beyond the mainstream media and tackle issues that don't seem so important to the major networks.
The Legend of Korra was supposed to be the successful spin-off of the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. For the first two seasons, it had done well. This season, however, went completely downhill, and the low ratings has caused Nickelodeon to pull the final four episodes. What went wrong with this season to cause the sudden cancellation? We'll discuss what happened in the series' sudden downward spiral.
