Week 13 was a rough loss for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans—and you KNOW Jim Williams and Mike McShane have just a few thoughts… or more, over the Birds performance. Here comes the latest edition of “Inside the War Nest”, the program CREATED by Philadelphia Eagles fans FOR Philadelphia Eagles fans. So grab an armchair, and fall in!
The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the formidable Seahawks, with their strong defense and QB Russell Wilson. The defense of Seattle proved too much for Mark Sanchez and company, as the Seahawks defeated the Eagles 24-14.
Mark Sanchez had a mediocre performance going: 10 of 20 / 50.0% / 96 yards / 2 TD’s – 1 INT / 76.3 QBR. Offensively, the team also struggled on 3rd down conversions; the running game was slow to get going with McCoy and Sproles and the time of possession was horribly imbalanced.
Coming up in week 14, its not deja-vu! The Birds match-up against the Dallas Cowboys and THIS game could mean the division! Which Tony Romo will show up? Was the Thanksgiving beatdown a preview of this game, or were the blue jerseys at home just messing with the Cowboys psyche? Offensively, the teams match up very closely, with Dallas taking the edge in the rushing game and DeMarco Murray.
With the season winding down, and the playoffs in sight, a debate is raging in the Philadelphia region: If the Birds see the postseason, who should start at QB? Should Mark Sachez continue the charge, or if well, should Nick Foles regain his position?

Is a win a win, no matter what? Your Philadelphia Eagles pull of their 6th win of the season against the Houston Texans, 31-21. This puts them atop the NFC East.
Taking the field against a JJ Watt-led defense of the Texans, the Eagles came out of the battle worn and injured. They lost QB Nick Foles with a broken collarbone, and captain of the defense DeMeco Ryans with a torn Achilles.
Veteran QB Mark Sanchez took the helm in relief of injured Foles, going 15-22 with 2 interceptions. Combined with the efforts of LeSean McCoy and Jeremy Maclin, Sanchez led the Eagles to a win.
Despite the win...is there a QB controversy brewing in Philadelphia? Is Nick Foles the future of the Eagles, or has his performance been lacking this year? Can Sanchez step it up for a Monday night spotlight game against the Panthers in week10 ? Will he be a sustainable QB to get the Birds to the playoffs?
Has the polarizing release of DeSean Jackson been vindicated by Jeremy Maclin's explosive performances?

Jim Williams and Mike McShane are all in for this week’s “Inside the War Nest”, the program "CREATED by Philadelphia Eagles fans FOR Philadelphia Eagles fans!"
Week 9 left the Eagles hobbled & fans worried, losing QB Nick Foles and defensive captain DeMeco Ryans. Yet, the Birds came out of Week 10 with a dominant showing against the Carolina Panthers on Monday night, winning 45-21. Overall, the team performance was better than it had been in previous weeks, even in the redzone. Back-up QB Mark Sanchez silenced the doubters in his first start: 20 of 37 / 332 yards / 2 TD’s / 0 INT’s.
With all that air time, was it surprising to see the ground game so quiet? 37 total yards on the ground with LeSean McCoy only going only 19 yards in 12 carries.
On the defensive side of the ball they came out charged & ready for the Panthers. Defense and Special Teams combined for big touchdowns. Carolina QB Cam Newton had a rough night against the Eagles, spending much of the time on the ground while getting sacked 9 times.
What’s next for the high-flying Eagles? They travel to cold home of the Green Bay Packers in week 11 to meet the commanding Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is the #1 ranked QB in the league with 25 TD’s – 3 INT’s / 120.1 QBR, leading an offense ranked 5th overall in scoring points. Can the Eagles top this offensive powerhouse? Can the defense break through the constantly-struggling line around Rodgers to knock him down a peg or two?

There was no deja vu for the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans, as the Birds set up for a rematch with the Dallas Cowboys in week 14 for the Sunday night game...With a very different result! You KNOW Jim Williams and Mike McShane have just a few thoughts or more, over the Birds performance on the latest edition of Inside The WarNest.
The Eagles lost to their division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys at the Linc on Sunday night. This loss hit fans and the team hard, with a win meaning a secure spot of the NFC East. Now, everyone must root for an Indianapolis win against Dallas this coming week to have a shot at the playoffs.
The night started off rough for the Birds, when the special teams made an error on the opening drive of the game. This error allowed the Cowboys to score early.
As against the Seahawks in the previous week, the Cowboys dominated the time of possession on the field. LeSean McCoy was once again held, with only 64 yards on the night. Though the TDs for the Birds came from Polk and Sproles. Mark Sanchez threw 2 picks, and Dez Bryant of the Cowboys showed all the holes in the Eagles secondary with some big touchdowns.
This loss has many fans discouraged and anxious about the playoff future and leaves many questions: Have good teams like the Seahawks and the Cowboys showed a chink in Chip Kelly’s armor and the weaknesses of the team? What QB is the future of the team? Without a playoff appearance, can this season be called a success?
Next week, the Birds take on the hapless, dysfunctional Washington Redskins, and a chance to regain some footing in the NFC East. The guys break down that upcoming games, and the challenges the Birds face to make a playoff run.
