The 1940 Rhythm Night Club Fire in Natchez, Mississippi is a compelling story. It has been brought to life by the granddaughter of the Night Club Owner Ed Frazier. Danese Frazier Turner joins me this week to take us on the journey. She has written a stage play, Death by Dancing, which was inspired by the real-life tragedy. Also, joining us is Co-Director, of the play, Nic Starr who is also Managing Director of The New African Grove Theatre Company and Artistic Director of Young Voices United. Welcome to the Thursday edition of Sports Time Radio hosted by The Big Jack and Dan the Man (possible). Thursday Night Football features an AFC East battle as the Buffalo Bills take on the New York Jets. Rex Ryan is coaching against his former team and I was surprised that there weren't more quotes from him. Maybe the fact that it's a Thursday game threw him off. Let's cover the NBA and the NHL scedule for tonight and will see if Dan the Man can pick a game right; he hasn't yet this season. Baseball's General Managers are meeting, but nothing nic has happened yet; maybe todayis the day,

This week's Saturday sit-down has some international flavors. I talked with JB from the Posterdunk podcast, part of Posterdunk.com, a French NBA website. JB knows all about Nic Batum's NBA career and his international ups and downs with the French national team.
Unfortunately this summer was a bit of a downer for Batum and France. The French national team lost to Spain in a thriller of a semifinal matchup at the international Eurobasket tournament. While Batum hit a three pointer to send the game into overtime, he missed critical free throws down the stretch to send France to the finals. Overall his summer stats were underwhelming. He averaged only 9.1 points on 35 percent shooting (including 6/35 from three), 3.6 rebounds and 1 turnover for every 1.3 assists.
Should Hornets fans be worried about his summer struggles or will Nic Batum bounce back this preseason and beyond?
Don't be fooled by all of the football on your televisions. NBA basketball is upon us! The Hornets are kicking things into two-a-day gear at training camp preparing to make the playoff run fans expected them to make last season. We'll have analysis of some of the more interesting things said at media day as well, like:
Jeremy Lin gets candid about why he chose Charlotte over the Dallas Mavericks
Nic Batum on why he struggled at Eurobasket
Big Al on what he did besides ditch chicken to get ready for this season
