Today's guest wil be famous New York City journalist and buffalo bullet columnist Gloria Dulan Wilson sitting in the world-famous Sylvia's Restaurant. We are priviledged to have such a luminary as she discusses her work, New York politics, the loss of the two most important men in her life; her late husband Lou Wilson-a member of the progressive rock and funk band Mandrill-and local New York activist Jitu Weusi, whom is the subject of her latest column on her blog.
Dulan-Wilson will also sum-up her history with Mandrill and her views on some current events such as the recent passing of young Malcolm Shabazz, and Tawana Brawley's ongoing case. As always the host is veteran syndicated columnist Chris Stevenson.
Blueshirt Underground Radio was founded in June of 2009, and is now in its sixth year of being the only live radio broadcast devoted to the New York Rangers. Hosted by lifelong Ranger fans Eddie "The Mouth" Gieck and Jim Schmiedeberg, Blueshirt Underground Radio is not some boring podcast that just drones on and on. It's a lively discussion of everything related to the Rangers, where nothing is off-limits. Rants about the players, announcers, and opponents are commonplace, and no one is off limits. It is a show that prides itself in dishing out tough love to the team it adores.
Not only is the show funny and entertaining, it is also fully interactive. It's the only radio show you can call into any time of year and talk Ranger hockey. What does the term "politics as usual" mean to you?
Does President Obama's approval ratings really mean anything?
Will opposing political parties (ie: Elephants & Donkeys o,r if your prefer, Republicans & Democrats) ever learn to work together?
In the political game, when is a win not a win?
These and a few other guestions are laying heavy on the minds of many people, including me.
Join me this morning at 8AM - 9:15AM EST to share your comments or opinions on these questios.
With the mid-term elections coming up and the future of the country at hand, the question becomes: "Are you actually going to vote? The answer to this is,"No," for a lot of people, and most of us who are voting are voting down party lines and not by candidate. That's why 90% of our congress will get re-elected, yet the approval rate is about 10%. Oh wait, the elections haven't happened yet, so how do we know what the turnout will be? History has proven this to be correct! Is the outcome of our elections so predictable??? What do you think? Give us a call at 646-595-3275 and give us your opinion while enjoying a hot cup of java.
