Healing the Inner Child, Part 10- Neurological Reorganization

    in Lifestyle

Do you struggle with “stuck” emotions?  Do you ask yourself, “Why did I do that?”  When we suffer trauma as children our brains are often unable to develop to their fullest potential.  Neurological Reorganization (NR) is a movement based therapy that creates efficient connections between the brain and various systems of the body to help people reach their highest potential.  NR uses the reflexes that we all have programmed into our brain to allow us to relearn how to do what it needs to do.  We are able to improve brain/body function as we go back and retrace the normal developmental steps that healthy infants and children take. NR reorganizes the traumatized brain through developmental movement, sensory, and reflexive activities and addresses the root cause of many disorders and disabilities, bringing about higher level functioning.  Learn more about this fascinating tool from our guest, Fawn Bradley on Beyond Abuse Radio.

Brain Injury Communication with Michael Idell - Let's Stop The Labels

    in Education

Join me, Michael W Idell this Friday February 5th at 5:30 p.m. till 6:50 p.m. Pacific time ( that's 8:30 p.m. till 9:50 p.m. Eastern Time ) on Brain Injury Radio Network as your host.

The topic of the week is "Let's Stop the Labels".

People with disabilities should be looked at by their abilities not what they're incapable of doing. There needs to be a stop with degradation segregation stereotypes and no one deserves to be pitied.

Many people with disabilities have more drive, initiative, and motivation more than most "normal" lazy people do without a disability.

Please call into our radio show  at 424-243-9540. The show is recorded for FCC purposes. Please share with your groups and friends.

Brain Injury Radio Show with Michael Idell - Positive Motivation

    in Education

Positive motivation has an impact on everyone involved with family members, caregivers and those involved with neurological impairments.

Recovery processes have an undoubtable negative impact on invidividuals without a positive influence involved.

A positive perception assists everyone through coping strategies including the initial impact on the news, the struggles involved, and the accomplishments made.

Families and caregivers need to have somewhere to go to when they have their struggles like giving up their lives, paying bills, making time for another life, and the responbilities which ensue.

Then most importantly is teamwork! ANYONE INVOLVED NEEDS TO LISTEN, LEARN, AND COMMUNICATE!

This is why we (ASBISG.org) have conference calls and meetings for caregivers. All of the attention isnt focused on just the survivors lives. Caregivers and family members understanding, communication, love and affection have an enormous affect on the brain injured. We are all a product of our environment. The community needs to help one another and help each other through the good times and bad.

1-27-16- Dr. Hildy® - LEGIONELLA Bacteria: The Cause of Legionellosis, Legionnaires’ Disease and Pontiac Fever

    Wednesday, January 27, 2016, 1:00-3:00PM Pacific
    (2:00-4:00pm Mountain; 3:00-5:00pm Central; 4:00-6:00pm Eastern)

This week on One Cell One Light Radio, returning guest Veronica Hendricks joins Dr. Hildy in the next in a series of discussions relating to the man-made disasters currently ongoing in our nation.

Our attention next turns to the potential danger of Legionnaires' disease. Also known as legionellosis or Legion fever, Legionnaires' disease is a form of atypical pneumonia caused by any type of Legionella bacteria. Legionnaires' has a wide variety of symptoms: almost all with Legionnaires' disease experience fever, while approximately half have cough with sputum, and 1/3 cough up blood or bloody sputum. Other symptoms include muscle aches, headache, tiredness, loss of appetite, loss of coordination, chest pain, or diarrhea and vomiting. Up to half of those with Legionnaires' have gastrointestinal symptoms, and almost half have neurological symptoms, including confusion and impaired cognition. Talk with Tenney: Special: Tell the FDA No to Reclassifying the Shock Device

    in Current Events

Call in (267) 521-0167 On December 30, 2015, from 9-11 PM Eastern, there will be a Special Episode of Talk with Tenney: Tell the FDA NO to Reclassifying the Shock Device.

Please join in to hear from people who have survived electroshock, the stories of people who have not survived, and concerned allies, in a move to try to combat the FDA's move to downgrade the shock device from a Class III experimental Device to a Class II device for those who are deemed "treatment resistant" or who "require a rapid response".

At 8:45 AM on December 29, 2015, the FDA will be publishing: "Neurological Devices: Electroconvulsive Therapy Devices Intended for Use in Treating Severe Major Depressive Episode in Patients 18 Years of Age and Older Who Are Treatment Resistant or Require a Rapid Response; Reclassification; etc./"

    From the draft document:

"FDA is inviting comments on whether the term "treatment resistant" and the phrase "require rapid response" provide sufficient clarity to the population for which ECT benefits outweigh risks."

FDA -- I am sure we will have plenty to say on what is meant by "Treatment Resistant" and "Require Rapid Response".

We will have 90 days to respond to the open docket -- 90 days to try to stop this from happening.
